Hi I'm need in to know how to go about installing my bios for evga 790i ftw. The guy I got it from installed the 790 ultra bios. So I am now getting wrong part number. I saw in a previous post where a guy named Bob helped someone out with the same issue but never stated how it was solved. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

    That would be me.

I think you should stay with the 790i Ultra BIOS that's been flashed to your 790i FTW..The Ultra BIOS is more stable and overclockable, and that's what many hard-core overclockers have done back in the day.

If you want to flash it back to an FTW BIOS, that would require force-flashing it so that you don't get the error when trying to flash back..We can try to do that, but it's been so long I probably forgot how, ha ha.

My advice = Stick with the Ultra BIOS on your FTW board as long as it works OK.

I have to agree with Bob. Stick with the BIOs you have now. I believe this motherboard is about 10-11 years old. The fact that it has run this long means it has some of the best value for money spent.

Thanks for the quick responses. Thank you. I always try to keep everything clean and running as smoothly as possible. When I got it, it was caked in dust. Running like a champ still. I just didn't know if I should throw the actual bios on or not. Occasionally the ps/2 keboard will stop working. I can plug in a USB one and it continues working. But I notice fluctuations in the system interrupts when this happens. Sure it's because it's getting old but didn't know if the bios being correct would help.

If it works OK with a USB keyboard, then just keep using one and carry on..May be a problem with the board's PS/2 controller or the PS/2 keyboard..Flashing back to an FTW BIOS won't matter.
