780 Classy not overclockable anymore?

So I’ve had my 780 Classified Hydrocopper for nearly 4-5 years now and it’s been a beast. Still decent for today’s games and giving it to my kids. However, I noticed something disheartening. The 2600k that I overclocked using Turbo 4.4 (Asrock board) still runs at the same clocks as before. Yet my 780 can only run stock speeds now. Why does the GPU degrade while the CPU does not? Both have been pushed for benchmarks but only moderate overclocks for long-term use. Shouldn’t the 780 still be able to OC?

    Being that old of a GPU you may want to replace the Thermal Paste with some good MX-4.
    Remove your GTX 780 and remove the Water Block and give it a good Cleaning.
    Clean the GPU and HC Heat Sink and put a fresh coat of TIM and if you have Thermal Pads replace them as well.
    Back Flush your Water Loop and then drain and flush it one more time and then fill with fresh Coolant.
    If you take an Apple (CPU) and a Banana (GPU) and place it on the counter top which will start to turn Black First?
    The Banana same as with the CPU and the GPU.
    I still find that Driver 372.90 or 373.06 run best on this Graphics Card.
    I am running 373.06 and while some games complain they run well.

    Maybe and you experience driver problems as all GK110.
    I revert on 341.44 driver because problems with newest drivers from NVIDIA site.
