I took my X79 FTW down today and pulled the GTX 690 out and put it in my Maximus V Extreme Rig.
I am using the integrated Video Card for the OS and using all 6 GPU’s Folding.
I added a AX 750 PSU to only power the new GTX 690 added to the rig work well from what I can tell.
Here are some Photos:

I would love to game on that rig. I always wanted to deck out a box with 3 top cards, but the amount and type of games i play anymore just does not warrant that kinda power. Maybe back in my FPS days but they just make me nauseous to try and play these days.

My Photoshop work does not benefit from multiple cards so I tend to try and stick to the most powerful single GPU's. Maybe where Star Citizen is released. Assuming I am still healthy enough to play it.

his PPD will be higher when they are all the other core 17's the 8900's are the lowball PPD of the core 17's and they take twice as long to do. I think they should be upped some slightly to match the others or even higher than the others for the inconvenience of tying up your GPU for 8+ hours lol.

I prefer the 7810/7811 work units over the 8900's for a couple reasons.

More PPD for one, and the time to do them is much shorter. Its not as much of a pain to work around them as it is 8+ hour 8900 work units.

They should make the 7810 7811 the /small toggle for high end gpu.

I hate the 8900's cause of the time they take. While some folks have dedicated GPU folders many people use their GPU's and having to stop a QRB gpu work unit is a bit of a decision.

The points drop so fast because the deadlines so tight it makes it not worthwhile to pause it for 8 hours while you work or game then restarting the folding when you are done. I would put this on their beta forums but i guess i just don't chat it up enough over on their forums to be a beta team member .. lol ohh well their loss.

I think if they made all the GPU folding 8+ hours, you can bet on seeing a much higher number of people abandoning the work units and grabbing new ones rather then holding on to one they are working on and a couple hours into.

For me, the 8900's aren't noticeably bad PPD-wise.  On my 780 @1215 I get around 174k on the 8900's, 178k on the 7811's, and 187k on the 7810's.  I consider the 7810's to be the oddity, in which case a 2% PPD difference between 8900 and 7811 isn't particularly notable.

You wouldn't need to be a beta team member to discuss this, as all the core 17 projects were moved to advanced a while ago and are therefore open for anyone to discuss (the fact that the advanced flag is currently 50/50 core 15 vs. core 17 WUs while the beta flag is mostly core 17 is irrelevant).

    I get on average:
    190k PPD on 7810
    181k ppd on 7811
out of over 200 8900's i have records on I only had 5 that made 175k PPD most 8900 sit around 172k on 8900  on a GTX 780

Thanks All,  I started with all Core 17 and now I am stuck with 2 Core 15

After I took down my X79 FTW Rig to pull out the GTX 690 I lost my X79 Dark or my Dark Titan Rig today after Folding on Core 15's I had to stop and reset my BIOS back to 46 and now all I get are AMI Post od and 0E.

I started of with 414372 PPD all Core 17s and running about 750 Watts and end up with about 190372 PPD and all Core 15s and running at about 910 Watts.
I took this Folding Rig down because the cost is to high to run Core 15s. And use I was running beta after I started of advanced then started getting Core 15. You will see me also drop off the Top 20, sorry Team folding@evga I may start back up if they remove Core 15.

Back to Folding on this Rig today.
I set the Power to max of 80% for each GPU and that keeps the total Wattage between 670-690. I also set the CPU to 3900 MHz from 4000MHz.
I did set it to 90% but is still used 860 to 890 Watts and because all I see now are Core 15 and a big 90,000 to 120,000 PPD for all six GPUs. At least this might keep me on the Top 20 List.

The electric cost was the main reason I switched from GPU folding to Amd 4P BigAdv folding.. I'm I reading thou numbers correctly ~ 90K PPD for GTX 680 verus 190K PPD for the GTX 780? I'm in the market to upgrade my gaming GTX 580 SLI setup, with an eye toward folding in the winter. Thoughts?

Looks like with the Core 15 8018 per GPU I get 18,000 to 20,000 PPD per GPU. The lowest I have ever had.
My HFM.NET Site foldit00 Slot 06 Slot 00 - foldit00 Slot 06 Slot 05 Cost per day on Core 15 is about $18.90 Per Day now @ 690-710 Watts. I upped my Power to 84% for each GPU and set my CPU back to 4000MHz.
I hope that the Core 15 go away and I get back Core 17 on my GPUs.
    Thanks All.

Once more my Rig is back Core 15. Now 5 of the six are running Core 15 now 5757 PPD down from 26698.3 PPD per GPU
I am back to Core 17, so it looks like the Core 15's run for a week and then back to Core 17.

nice!  I just recently retired my 690.  Scary how the 960's pull close to the same numbers of that monster card lol.  I just run a couple 960's now.
