So I have now an ASUS MG24UQ 4k display, I have tried HDMI and DP and both give it, HDMI more than DP. Either one though when gaming i get random black, and sometimes it just stays a black screen till i ctrl alt del and kill the task blindly. Anyone got any clues. I've tried 2 new HDMI ultra HD rated cables and 2 DP cables. Works fine when not gaming on desktop, but if i launch a game it can't function.

AMD Ryzen R5 1600

XFX RX580 GTS-R Black Edition
Windows 10 Pro

and I really wanted to play Company of Hero's and Goldeneye 64 at 4k :(

    Try disabling full screen optimization.

Maybe the monitor is the cause. You'd need another 4k monitor to verify that though.

I had the same problem until I bought a 4K certified DP cable.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA
