Bought the card last year in November. It was working perfectly. Mainly used to play Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. Day before I was playing a games for 2 hours, watched some of the YouTube and browsed some forums. Shut PC for the night. Next morning PC will not boot and motherboard LCD was showing Code 97 Load VGA BIOS. and nothing happened after that. I tried to switch the bios on the card but next boot got the same message. Unplugged everything from ports, reset CMOS, flashed different motherboard bios but nothing helped. Borrowed GT710 from the neighbour and PC booted right in. Ryzen 5959x Crosshair VII Formula 32GB Gaskill 980 Pro M.2 drive Seasonic 1000w Platinum Requested RMA options from EVGA and got a prompt reply. Fired up RMA with the store and now waiting. Because there is a shortage for GPUs I was wondering if there is anything else I could try before sending the card back.

It seems that there are so many issues with this generation of GPUs . For me it is reliability #1 over getting a few more fps.

I think that you would be getting a refurbished card so the wait may not be long. I may be wrong but I think they allocate for that. I still would not delay what appears to be the inevitable.

I was hoping for something I could try but nothing worked. I got GT710 for now so I can use PC. Being a new car or refurbished one makes a little difference. As long as it is working properly. Owned quite few EVGA products and never had an issue. Hopefully whole RMA process will go smoothly.

I suppose the first question I would ask is do you see any of the red lights over the power plugs. Next, and just wondering, was the card back to normal temps when you shut the system down? Have you tried reinstalling the card, I don't see that mentioned..

Should do your RMA via the 3090oc@evga.com so you get a card with fixed power balance issues. Wouldn't worry about the shortage, they keep cards to the side for this kind of stuff.

No light above power plugs. I did try the second PCIe slot with the same outcome. The card spins fans at moderate speed and produces tiny amount of heat. Nothing out of ordinary beside of error message.
I'm in Australia so I either return to the store for exchange or mail it to Taiwan. At this stage I will take back to the store as it will be much easier ( might be not quicker..)

Are they not offering the power limits program in AU? I know they are in the US and EU

I had a strix 2070 OC die 5 days before the year warranty was up. That's why I went with a ftw3 3080 ultra last November. The card is running fine my top port royal was 12780. I wonder how many people are having trouble with this gen of strix?

I took the card back to the store today. The bloke looked at the card noted serial number and it was lodged. The card looked like brand new. I thought it is a shame that it has to go back. Managed to finish Cyberpunk 2077. It worked without any issues. Now I have to wait for it to comeback. In the past I owned few EVGA products and never had an issue. It will be interesting to see how it all goes with the RMA. All these years I always hear good things about EVGA customer service.
