Got my new 3090 FTW3 Ultra yesterday.
Have been working on a little overclock.
So far I have +169 on the GPU ,  power and temp at max, voltage at max.
Working on Mem now.

All this speculations and hope for card that will last longer than the other which died and hoping drivers  or firmware will fix the issue is just  nonsense. Every day you see and from my own experience cards are dying literally gone even on idle while on desktop and this supposed to be OCing card, are you kidding me.
What is honestly worse, not a one EVGA rep will say anything, even when you calling them, they are silent and just want you to RMA card, that is disturbing, when you dishing out that king of money.

And my card is still working just fine.

It's not always the card. It's sometimes other pieces of your system that cause issues.

Regardless.....even if Mine dies, I'll just RMA it.

eVGA will take care of me.

It's ludicrous to say "every card has a problem"

Obviously all these cards have something in common that makes them so prone to kick the bucket, it’s just matter of when.
Anyways, I'm done bashing as that’s what I feel I’m doing, enough said, lets watch and see how this goes and I truly hope that fox who love their card now and saying its all good for now, will not comeback son enough with sad face and say..It happen to me to.

I would have agreed with this at one time, but I got 2 dead cards sitting in my room right now, one waiting for RMA approval and one waiting for the previous RMA to complete, both were in different systems when they failed.
How much bad luck can I experience before I suspect other issues?
And maybe hardware configuration may cause issues, but a totally dead card? Something is up. If every card isn't have a problem, the failure rates are just crazy on these.

I bought EVGA because they I'm sure they will stand behind their products. And they have been, but now I'm getting worried I'll never get a card that works for more than a few weeks, and definitely not in time for Cold War, and maybe not in time for Cyberpunk.

Yea this needs to be publicly addressed. I passed on a 3090 notification email yesterday because of all of this.

Had mine for almost a month now. Running perfect. no issues. Memory I've managed to get to +1150 with no issues. GPU +112. No addition to voltage or power. Going to try to push the gpu higher over time.

That's pretty good, when my card worked it could only managed about 700 on mem and 80 on clock.
What kind of PSU are you running?

It’s sad because I prefer EVGA, but I'm waiting for Asus Strix 3090 to show up and get that. The thing I will miss by not getting EVGA is the warranty and support, they are great, but facing this uncertainty and worry every day, after wile even the good support and warranty gets overwritten.

WOW. I thought the people having issues were restricted to the beta bios page. This is bad. Just returning the card at this point. I have had no cards die but even on the stock bios this card is hard locking randomly on boot up. Goes through EFI/BIOS post and then hangs at a black screen. Power cycling seems to fix it though until x amount of reboots later.

I found when I increased memory at 100 intervals such as 200 , 300, 400 i couldn;t stop crashing over 200. When I switched to 250, 350, 450 etc it didnt crash till 1250 so I reverted back to 1150 and it's been solid. GOing to try to figure out my gpu as well. The scan gave me 112 thats why I'm starting there but every 120 130 etc its crashing. Tried 125 135 etc still crashing and thats with power 107 and voltage at 100 mV.

I have had my EVGA RTX 3090 FTW 3 Ultra now for 5 solid gaming and bench marking days without any issues at all. This GPU (Knock on wood) has been pretty amazing. I immediately purchased an EVGA 1000G3 PSU and removed my corsair RMx 850w to ensure proper power delivery in my new system. I am using 3 separate dedicated 12v power rails and not y chaining off a second rail. I updated my O'C bios profile to the higher power target of a Max 500w without issues and I just did a Port Royal bench of +250 core and +200 Mem with no crashes. I am extremely happy with the GPU and will update this if there are any changes in the future. Its a pretty substantial performance leap imo over my last GPU EVGA 2080Ti FTW 3 which is a fantastic card too.

Well.. knock on the wood here as well.

Running this 3090 FTWE Ultra on a Seasonic 750w PRIME Ultra PSU.. hadn't had issues still and OC seems pretty good atm.

Temps are well below 60C.

Your going to love it. I actually really dig the ARGB on this card as well. Kinda reminds me of bladrunner in blue.

Literally makes no sense. FE has the best cooling at that is around 65c under full load. The 3090 FTW3 Ultra is hitting around 75-80c for most people under load unless you set fans to 100%.

When I had a card that still worked, if I was pushing it hard I was hitting ~71c max.
Checking my timespy results, looks like it was getting me to around 65c, and most of the normal gaming I was doing was 55-63c and this was true of both cards using OC bios and no other fan adjustment. OC was +600 Mem +80 GPU at the time.
I think case cooling is going to play a huge factor in this. I'm not sure about synthetic tests though.

That's rough man =(

In any case, temps are definitely hotter since EVGA wanted to exhaust straight out the side which blasts my side panel. I can remove the side panel but temps only drop about 5c or so.

Had mine for almost a week now gaming 3 hours a night.  With a +105 core and +249 mem the clock sits around 2055 and the temp is 60c - 62c.  No problems whatsoever.  No fan curve set just on oc bios. YMMV

That's either some silicon lottery bin or my card needs to have thermal paste reapplied. Mine go from idle to 60-65 almost instantly under load if the fan isn't at 100%, then keeps going and levels out around 75c or so.

I am thinking the same thing...  Its a beast.  I don't run Precision X or Afterburner any more after dialing it in.  I set power and clocks with Nvidia Inspector v1.9.7.8 at boot with Task Scheduler.  The oc bios controls the fans 65% - 75% range under load while gaming.  The card is idling at 26c -28c.  To be fair I'm at 21c ambient and have great airflow in my case.

Finally got my queue notification this AM for the 3090 FTW3 Ultra and I should have in hand tomorrow.
It'll be replacing my 1080Ti FE that has served me well since launch, which has almost been 4 years...

Hopefully I'll get as much as of the 3090 as well.

This is with the OC beta bios but no additional clock changes. You can see Power limiting happening and it's not even at the stock 420W, 75C. Valhalla apparently utilizes AVX heavily as well.

Sounds like thermal paste not applied correctly.
