AWK16 Went to Canada computers earlier this morning as they do have some in stock, go home all exited, installed and worked for literally 4 minutes. I honestly was hesitant on getting this card, it just to many negative things, but again, secretly I convinced myself these people got bad batch and who knows maybe they did. Here I am facing the same thing, one of the red lights is ON and the card is literally dead, installed my titan back, all good. I'm going back to return the card I have 15 days. Honestly, at this point I'm not sure how I feel about this 3080/3090 launch I just hope that the current owners that enjoying their cards wont face issues down the line and whatever is going on is inevitable
With a 3 year default warranty and EVGAs customer service, I'm not worried about mine. I do have an older computer used for backup that got my 2080 Super XC Ultra if something does happen, so even more peace of mind with that.
It does suck that the card died on you. Out of curiosity - what PSU and are you using the cables that came with that unit or not?
It was Sseasonic 1000 TX Titanium and I used the org cables that come with the unit, even thou all my cables are custom I didn't want to run into any problems. I just purchased 2 brand new Seasonic directly from them. 1000 TX Titanium and 1300 Prime Platinum, both approved by seasonic as far is earlier issues. As far is warranty goes, I always get 10 years, although I didn't get the chance to get for this one, but sometimes keep RAM-ing spoils the excitement about even having the new hardware to begin with. Im hoping that for 1. Who owns the card and not dealing with issues will have long happy run and this will get taking care of so this can be exiting time for new owners.

AWK16 Yap it’s me. How many times and usually when something bad is going around, you kind of thinking "it won’t happen to you"? Secretly I was really hoping for that. It’s very disappointing, but not the end of the world I hope within months whatever that is will get fixed and I mean fixed the right way not quick band aid that will fall off as time goes on.
Reposting because I'd like to know since I troll the forums and try helping folks out:

Cables are custom sleeved from Cable Mod. I didn't have a 3rd 8pin so I used Mainframe Customs to make me another one in the style.

That's why I was asking a lot of you so many question before I decided to run and get one this morning, I even called CC to put one on hold for me last night Generally, before I decide to make any purchases, especially electronics I do quite extensive research and for the most part and over the past 30 years It did help me to have fairly clean run and good experience, I have rarely RMA anything, but even then, when there is hardware issue and that is usually in early stage of new releases, there is nothing you can do except to wait out the " beta test" and try it down the road.

telehog Rtx3090 Ftw3 Ultra got it Wed. last week . No problems run great!
I'm glad. The people with the issues are way more likely to be posting. So it makes it seem like every card is failing. Gives me a bit more hope that the card being delivered to me today will work fine.

Every piece of electronics across the board has a chance to fail. Is it likely, of course not. There are those that will use the RMA excuse because A. they didn't win the silicon lottery race or B. confusing software issues for hardware. In these forums, you will only hear about the issues since folks are creating threads for troubleshooting. The 1000s+ who have no issue, you'll never hear from them cause they're busy gaming.

Hey, a new owner of RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra, got it yesterday. was running some tests on the card and played games. I noticed the temps on this card is on high side as it hits somewhere mid 70's to 80's.. stays between 75c to 80c. Is that normal? I left the fan curve at auto and toggled the switch to OC. DDU clean install of drivers and running latest PX1. I am using NZXT H710I case with 360 rad fixed in front pulling in fresh air and 3x120 fan on top and 1x140 fan rear. Never had temp going above 70c on my previous 1080Ti MSI X trio card though.. Also this is my first EVGA card and i wonder if all EVGA cards performs this bad temps wise? Thanks for any help here guys.

For air cooled? Perfectly normal. I would consider high side 85c+. Don't forget, your previous card had a TDP of 250w while your current is 350w+. In general, these GPUs needs lots of cooler air if you want lower temps. Are you using a 360mm AIO for the CPU? If so, that's overkill to be honest and taking away lots of cooler air for the air cooled GPU. While keeping the front/bottom as intake and the rear as exhaust, have you tried flipping the fans up top to exhaust or intake to see if that helps? Worse case presumably speaking, you replace that 360 AIO to a 240mm and purchase a 240mm GPU EVGA Hybrid Kit for your card once they are released. Put the Hybrid rad in the front as intake and your CPU's AIO up top as intake as well while exhausting it out the rear and don't worry about the internal temps since when the GPU is running at full load, chances are the CPU won't be either.

Launch day owner. I've been literally using the card 24/7 since I got my 3090 FTW3 Ultra. If I'm not gaming on it, I'm running Folding at Home on it. I don't let it rest. No issues here.

Thank you for the input. Appreciate it. I haven't experimented on placements of AIO's yet or the fans. I am running 9900KF at 5.2Ghz and 360 rad helps with the temp. I was expecting this card to be on par or better than ASUS TUF OC version which my friend owns in terms of temp as this is on "expensive" side but out of the box with OC switch toggled on it seems its not as good. That Asus TUF runs way cooler ~65c at full load and rarely hits 70c and i wonder what could be wrong with the FTW3 ultra card. Could it be on the FW side? Or perhaps little tweaking on the fan curves? I'm for one do not like my pc sounding like jet engines and at times when the temp hits 80c the sound from the fan super audible. Not sure if i should return this card and grab myself a TUF OC card.. My room temp stays at ~26c all the time. My first impression on this EVGA card (my first one from EVGA) not that good tbh.

Hey, no problem as we're all here to assist. I believe your main issue here is, having a front 360mm AIO CPU cooler will sufficate the GPU from cooler ambient air. Either way, I would still recommend the 240mm Hybrid kit once it's released. Should bring your temps and audibles down considerably while making adjustments to the AIO configuration as I noted earlier.

Thank you again for the quick response mate. I guess i could try that out. In the meantime i will try some tweaks on fan curves and see if that helps. Any other suggestion you can give or perhaps point me to correct discussion thread on this topic? Cheers.

I have been using one for a couple weeks without issue. Of course if I do have an issue I trust EVGA for an RMA. For me that piece of mind is very helpful in jumping onto this generation early.

Just to bump and update this. Earlier in the post I said mine had died ~3 days after I got it originally with a black screen / dead DP ports. I got my replacement last Friday and have used it a lot since then.
I've been overclocking and benching too, none of the behaviors of the previous card have shown itself. 19,096 is my highest stable score so far in Time Spy, which is nearly +2000 from the original card with a mild OC. www. 3dmark . com /spy/14977857 My brother has now had his 3090 for over a week now and has had no issues with similar use and he's pushed his card much harder than me at this point. I think it's safe to say now that the first card was just bad, and its failure had nothing to do with my PSU or setup. Good luck to everyone who still has issues.

good to see your new card is running well FYI: No need to use the "bump phrase" -- All posts will update the thread .. besides on the EVGA Forums "bump" is Not allowed

Glad to hear your new card's working well so far. My card died hours after installation (i made the "Another one bites the dust" thread about it) and my RMA just got approved, so fingers crossed it all gets sorted quickly I'm curious if we can narrow down a bad batch of FTW3s using the Serial Numbers... Mine was 201413398700310. Bought on the Oct 23rd from NE, installed on the 30th, died the same day.

My card that underwent red light death was from the same Newegg batch (10/23). SN is very close to yours 2014133987001XXX (censored last 3 digits).

marcula Glad to hear your new card's working well so far. My card died hours after installation (i made the "Another one bites the dust" thread about it) and my RMA just got approved, so fingers crossed it all gets sorted quickly I'm curious if we can narrow down a bad batch of FTW3s using the Serial Numbers... Mine was 2014133987001310. Bought on the Oct 23rd from NE, installed on the 30th, died the same day.

Interesting, thanks!

The 12 pin connectors are only on the founder's edition cards.

Zetta Earlier in the post I said mine had died ~3 days after I got it originally with a black screen / dead DP ports.
Glad to hear you're enjoying your powerful GPU. Also to the others, don't post your GPU's serial # on the forums. That's your GPU's identification and used to register.

arestavo I've settled on +100 GPU +600 VRAM for rock solid stability gaming/folding
That is EXACTLY where I ended up on my 3090 FTW3 Ultra. Any higher and it crashes in red dead. Once it heats up it throttles down in the 1925-1980 range.
