3090 is for sure the RTX Titan replacement. The only higher RTX 3000 silicon is the GA100 which is for servers only.

3090 is a replacement for the 2080 ti. Only reason they are calling it 3090 is so they can charge more without people complaining.

Extremely unlikely, there is a gap between the 3080 and the 3090 that a 2080 Ti would most likely fill. This is based on a rumour, don't take click-bait articles as fact.

"Titan class". Not surely a Titan replacement. Until there is a card with a Titan name, NVIDIA can always name one Titan later and prove your theory wrong.

The problem with the 3090 is that it has too high of a TDP to be a Titan. NVIDIA wants Titans to be 250 w TDP to be drop-in replacements for a previous Titan. The 3090 is an issue on this front, and would be pretty gutless if NVIDIA lowered it down to 250 w TDP.

I can see NVIDIA cutting down a more efficient Quadro and making it a Titan in the future. Or maybe there will be no "Titan" by name. Only time will tell. But nothing is certain until it happens; and even then it is not always certain.

they would need to port it over to like 5nm to get  under 300watts, in my mind, but i am just guy on the web.

Since it seems like some of you missed this, Jensen presented the 3070 and 3080 together and the 3090 by itself.  The 3090 was compared to the RTX Titan with its focus on creative uses, rendering, data science, AI, etc. but with more availability due to worldwide distribution through board partners, not just nvidia alone: https://youtu.be/QKx-eMAVK70
So it is possible that a new RTX Titan is released later, it doesn't seem to be nvidia's plan.

same like last gen. 2080 Ti was 1250€ and Jayz2cents called it new titan. It is probably not the full die and I can imagine a 48 GB maxed out GA102 Titan A for 3000€ as soon as they made enough working chips for it + the GA102 Quadro Cards.

Otherwise they could delete Titan and call gaming cards up to 3090 Ti and have only Quadro at the other side, nobody knows but I think a Titan Ampere is most likely, Nvidia loves to earn extra cash with selling the full die.

If the 3090 is the new Titan then it will get pro drivers, if it doesn't then it's not really a Titan.

Well if Jensen said so. It must be true.

He would never spin a half truth to justify a price increase ...
