I've been getting some game freezes but only when I'm in a menu. Not happening during gameplay. The screen freezes and I have to ctrl alt delete to shut the game down. My card is over clocked but I've lowered both core and memory alot and still the same problem. It doesn't happen very often though. Any ideas what's causing this? Unstable overcloxk? Just the games? Any help would be appreciated!

I'm pretty experienced with overclocking.but I have a baby at home so I'm pressed for time to troubleshoot lol

If its only game that does it, Check the game log files for errors .If it's all games .update everything you can windows/bios and so on. And use a nv driver that works seems alot of people on all different versions right now you have use to use what works for you. every things a bit buggy right now .I recently had a issue with games open to black screens updated to newest version of windows and that fixed the problem. Also had a problem with bo coldwar stuck at 61 fps no matter what i did turned out to be stuck button in the menu on the game ,the unlimited fps was stuck .switched back and forth bam fixed .Also make sure nv setting to Prefer maximum performance .

Try setting the nvidia energy option to prefer max performance, instead of default optimal.
This also causes a driver crash while idle (see black screen tdr topics everywhere), so it might be the same problem for you in game menus, where the card downclocks i assume.

Ok thanks I will try setting power in nvcp to prefer maximum performance. I should of thought to do that. There definitely are alot of bugs with these new cards.

Careful though, prefer max performance has been known to cause the 3XXX cards to get stuck at boost clocks like 1800Mhz, causing higher idle temps.

    Set it to Adaptive.

Well, its exactly the reason for that option. Not to allow the card to downclock when it detects idle states. This is what also fixed TDR's while browsing for example.
So prefer max performance is just doing what it was meant to do.
