Hey,

Pre-ordered a XC3 ultra, and for you lucky ones that have yours already, can you share overclock results?

Wanting to see what to look forward to!

Thanks!

Mine is not an Ultra. 3090 Gaming and my current OC is +60 or +75 core clock and +325 on the memory. 16 250 spytime and 6350 blueroom benchmark with a ryzen5 3600 4.25Ghz.

Custom fans profile of course and open case needed to help escape the heat right away onto the side of the card into the ambiant room. 65-68 in game temps.

If the GPU usage is below 80% it hold boost between 1925 and 2025mhz.

If the gpu usage is over 80% the boost is more into the 1800s mhz.

    Youll be disappointed.
Was going to link you to post I made but looks like that thread has been deleted.

Stock = unable to reach the rated boost speeds on the box since its on power limiter of 350W 100% of the time. 16.8K firestrike store.
Power limiter silder maxed = Reaches advertised boost clocks but still 100% of the time on power limiter, 17.6K score.
Adjusting core offset doesnt really gain anything since you add +100 core and the card will boost up to that for 1 sec then drop right back down as it slams against power limiter of 366W (max setting)

Flash the Gigabyte Gaming OC bios to it 370W.
Boosts up to 1755mhz and pritty much stays there. 18.9K score.
Move the power slider to max 390W. Boosts to 1850mhz. 19.8K score.
Add +100 core and flatten the curve so it doesnt go over 1V. 20.5K score Boosting to 1925mhz. Still bouncing off power limit most the time.

Shunt mod it. +150 core +600 memory, Boosts to 1975mhz and pritty much stays there with light loads boosting to 2100mhz.
Pulls 480W tho. 21.2K score and thats the limit of the stock cooler with it hitting 75C with fan maxed out and dropping clocks due to temp.

The power limit is way too low for the 3090 XC3 Ultra.
Search though the forum and youll see a few posts on it that havnt been deleted yet.
Youll get the same performance at 350W on a 3090 as you would with 350W on a high end 3080.

To basically get any gains youll need to void warranty with the GB bios.
But then your still at the limitation of what they can release and remain in the pci-e spec.
Theres ment to be the Aorus Master bios thats 400W but you wont see any bios for the 2 plug cards above that.

Have you reflashed the Evga 3090 yourself with a Gigabytes Gaming OC bios or this is just theorical talking ? If that bios can give my card a power limit of 370-390W instead of 366W I am interested. My card is running 65-67 celcius in game so I still have a bit of room.

I tought the 2x8 pins could supply 300W and the pci express slot 75W for a total of 375W.

How could it be possible to run 380-390W ?

I would be willing to push mine to 370-375W without being affraid.

Flash mine the 3rd day of owning it lol. I got my card on the 28th.
Jump on the overclocker dot net 3090 group theres 7 of us XC3 Ultra owners over there now.
The spec for wattage over the connectors and slot isnt the max they can supply before they catch fire. Its the min they have to be able to handle to be approved to meet spec. Any decent PSU and motherboard will handle way higher.
With the shut mod im running at the moment, Iv got 204W going over each 8pin plug. Using a EVGA 1000W PSU.

Here is the best I could get on EVGA bios vs stock on the Gigabyte bios in port royal, Since port royal is 100% dependant on your power limit and how good your chip is.

But do note when using the GB bios 3 people have said that there middle DP port doesnt work while they are on it, The other 2 and HDMI still work tho.
All 3 DP and HDMI still worked for me tho.

With the bios flashed the software now think your card is a Gigabytes ?

Where did you find the GB bios ?

Techpowerup website have the MSI Gaming Trio bios and the Gibabytes Eagle and the Asus Strix OC bios.

Did you use Nvflash software ?

I tried with GPU-Z to save my current oem bios but I had a message it was impossible to do so.

You need to use the Ampere edition NVFlash. W1zzard is working on putting that into GPUZ and will have a update on monday.
All the details and all avaliable bioses are on overclock dot net forums 3090 thread on the first post with instructions.
They dont let you post links on here but you should be able to find it searching google "overclock net 3090"

Thank You buddy for the tip.

My card is faster then ever now and still @68 degree with the same fans profile while playing VR assetto corsa with my Pimax 5K+ @120hz steady.
I have been able to raise my steamvr supersampling from 216% to 224% and still maintain 120 fps all the time.

    My timespy graphic score passed from 20 200 to 20 800 - 20 900 points.

My Vrmark blueroom score passed from 6 350 to 6600.

Hopefully EVGA will release an offical bios with proper power limits.
The XC3 Ultra is a 370W card minimum, Not a 350/366W card. Thats what the Black and Gaming versions are.

    Mine is a gaming version.
It is physically the same card as the ultra except for the oem bios value right ?

My in game temp never pass 67-68 even with the 390W bios.

The 366W bios was just there to distinguish the lower priced card with the upper.

    I have the 3090 XC3 Ultra and with;
Stock: card boosts to about 1800-1815 Mhz but very rarely, mostly sits about 1755-1775 Mhz and once in a while hitting 1875 Mhz.
Power Limit set to 104% and custom fan curve: it boosts up to 1920 Mhz with spikes to 1980 Mhz and once in a while dipping into 1890 Mhz.

Seems like the card is hitting a thermal limit at stock.
