So when can we expect it? November? Maybe Mid October? And what price range we looking at?

It can't be that far off as Kingpin just used one to plow through the 16k barrier in Port Royal. I would say before the end of Nov, but who knows for sure. Good question for EVGAWEEKLY stream. You could snag a card now if you get lucky and step up to a KP when they get released.

I'd agree that it would be sometime around or right after the hydro/ hybrid cards get released. Would be very surprised if it's after November.

Anyone know if Nvidia will release any graphics card above the 3090 this generation perhaps? Only hesitancy for me waiting is the idea Nvidia would do like a "3090ti"; in which the may optimize performance of the card for more gaming application.

From past experience I would say it's pretty likely. Especially if amd kills it in October.. Might be middle of next year though so I wouldn't wait for it if you need to upgrade.

It seems like Nvidia is starting to do a tick-tock structure with half step cards every other year.

Yeah, I am still running a EVGA 980ti Classy, so I was looking at the 3000 series as a serious upgrade. I have the funds currently, so what I was thinking was a 3080/3090 EVGA FTW3 Ultra, get an LG CX 55" sometime during Black Friday (LG C9 Series had a really good discount last year during that time, so maybe LG with do the same this year), then upgrade when the possible "3090ti" comes out. I sold some records recently and have like $5,000 to work with. Already got all the new parts for the new build besides the Graphics Card.

Half step?  It's only about 30% improvement once you adjust for power level.

This, aside from the quality of cards, is why I chose EVGA time and time again. Makes it much easier for us to upgrade without the headache of constantly having to sell/buy new cards.

Nice. Yeah, I'm planning on upgrading to an rtx 3080 to see how it performs for my needs and potentially stepping up to the 3090 or 3090ti depending on that. Feel like because these cards are so hot right now you could sell it and upgrade to the ti even if you miss the step up window.

That sounds like a good plan. I had been considering that as well. Been going back and forth if I want to do a 3080 or 3090 and do step up program. I haven't done it in a while, do they just have you pay the difference of the cards, right? (Like if you did step up from 3080 to 3090, it would just be the difference of the cost of the card).

Yep, just the difference in cost and the cost of return shipping which is $20-30 depending how fast you want your card. Typically is a couple days of downtime without a card..

Awesome. That was my experience when I did it will my 980 to 980ti Classy years ago. Had a great experience with EVGA handling that, and being able to just upgrade. Honestly, I have no idea why other companies don't do this. It makes so much sense, and win-win for the us the customers and the company getting to roll out affordable "B-Stock".

Don't you also have to pay the taxes on both?  I don't think you just pay the taxes on the difference.

Is this true? Like taxes on the entire card purchase? I mean, I don't think it is the biggest deal, but it kind of sucks somewhat. I mean, I think you make break out better doing the step up and paying difference then having to sell card, fees, then buy full price again. At least EVGA values the card fairly.

You have to mail in your card first as collateral. They send you the new card within 1-3 business days typically once they get yours.

Keeps people in the system to get new hardware and lets others benefit from their b-stock. There's a lot to like about the program.

Agreed. Honestly, it has kept me with EVGA video cards for my last 2 iterations. I am finally looking to upgrade my 980ti Classy!

Wondering what the MSRP on this might look like. I mean, if may just wait for ROG Strix or EVGA Kingpin at this point.

From past experience I would say it's pretty likely. Especially if amd kills it in October.. Might be middle of next year though so I wouldn't wait for it if you need to upgrade.

I'm not so sure I believe Nvidia has anything else beyond the 3090. From everything I've heard, the 3090 was Nvidia's best effort to keep the performance crown, and they'll have nothing to respond with if it fails. That said, nothing I've seen leaked hints that Big Navi will beat the 3090, and most people seem to think it'll be about 3080 in performance.

At best, we might get a 3090 Super in a year or so, as Micron has hinted that they'd like to double the bandwidth of GDDR6 with their new GDDR6X, and the current release was unable to double it.

Additionally, GDDR6X is about 20% more expensive than GDDR6, and that may make it difficult for Nvidia to compete (price-wise) if Big Navi can match a 3080.

Yeah, I mean they will be releasing a 3080 20G, but with the small performance differentiation between 3080 and 3090, it would make sense for Nvidia to focus on like a 3090 Super or ti.
