So I had the idea of going to a hybrid cooler on my FTW3 Ultra not because my temps were bad but because I'd be able to use a quieter fan.

Went through the process without a hitch. There was an ungodly amount of thermal putty in my card. Like a LOT.

Either way, memory junction temps are considerably higher on the hybrid cooler. I've gone from 88-94c under load to 98-102c+

Any ideas? I realize the hybrid kit isn't really designed to cool the memory any better but I didn't expect worse. Do I just need to go back to the air cooler?

Yes, I remembered to remove the stickers.

Thanks!

Same issue on my 3080. Exactly the same. About to go back to air cooling.

Yeah is this to be expected? I've even swapped out the stock thermal pads but my VRAM temps on the hybrid seem way worse than people are reporting on air cooled versions...

My 3080 XC3 with the hybrid kit fitted doesn't get memory temps above 85 when gaming (reaches 96 if i'm mining). Not sure what they were before on the air cooling though.

I don't have the hybrid kit, but I remember hearing there's a VBIOS flash involved--did that go ok for everyone?  if not, see: https://forums.evga.com/3080-FTW-Hybrid-Kit-Install-m3177119.aspx#3178112 it has 3090 VBIOS linked in there also.  Also, don't know if this applies for anyone but PX1 1.1.8 auto flashes to RBAR BIOS IDK if there are different RBAR VBIOS versions for the hybrid kit or not. Doubtful since there are several of you with same issue it's bad placement of thermal pads--you can lock fan 100% temporarily to see what temps do for comparison get maybe a little better feel for where you're at if you haven't already(?)  Can't think of what else it might be--GL!

Something must be wrong with your vram plate not making proper contact. Here are my results for my 3080

You're referring to the the memory temps, but OP is referring to the memory junction temperature.

Will this hybrid cooler work with the hydro copper which is already blocked?

Just checking here that you do understand that the Hydrocopper card is intended to be in a liquid cooling loop, yes?  If you are asking if it's possible to remove the stock waterblock on any of the 3090 hydrocopper cards, and replace it with the hybrid kit instead, I can barely imagine why you'd want to attempt it, but from a strict possibility viewpoint even though the Hydrocopper's aren't listed in the compatibility section of the Hybrid kit, probably since it's the same card underneath it's actually possible and not added to compatibility since no one imagined this crazy GPU shortage where anyone would be contemplating what would be a lot of effort to downgrade their GPU cooling.  Maybe you have some REALLY good reason for not wanting to use a full liquid cooling solution, and want to go with the AIO hybrid kit ( Based on the posts above you might line up a card swap right here if you wanted to ) instead, seems extremely likely you'll end up spending some more money and effort for a worse result than if you had to for example get a new case which has room for a radiator & etc.  If you're new to liquid cooling, there are lots of helpful resources and examples here in the forums and around the internet in general if you search. Have a look in this forum link for some ideas maybe: https://forums.evga.com/MODS-RIGS-f33.aspx   A good place to check out some liquid cooling components to make yourself a loop if you don't go AIO hybrid is www.ekwb.com. Have fun on your liquid cooling project, or GL lining up a swap for a hybrid if that's your preference!
