Backplate pressure seems to be low; if i pressed the backplate against the VRAMs with a stick the temps drop from 90 to 80 tj. Is this normal or should i change the thermal pads for thicker ones?

Also the fans vibrate a little, like some kind of resonance when they are > 55%. I started to think its a refurbished/RMA card because of those issue? But serial number looks ok and the sticker of warranty on one screw in the back is still there.

But for now I'm more interested in a fix for the backplate contact issue. Is it normal?

Yes the backplate thing is normal, plenty of people have been changing their thermal pads for better ones and getting significant gains. There are many posts on this board about people doing just that and posting the spec of the thermal pads they got, you can search for it (don't think I'm allowed to post links).

There are videos on YouTube of people swapping thermal pads for better temps on cards, but I don't remember if they were EVGA models. I don't know if EVGA gets mad at you for doing that under the warranty.
