While the AMD quantities remain low/non-existent, it sounds like the 6800 performs well at 1080 and 1440...but that is not what we on the bleeding edge are seeking. In short, I don't think the AMD launch will do much/enough to ease the demand issues we continue to face. The wait continues.... Edit: Congratulations on your card!!! I am so glad it worked out!!!!

Hope you used someone's associate code as well - $90 off the 3090 card with that.

As the queue crests the 3 pm hour on 10/6 (the queue is now at approximately 3:13 pm), I think it is fair to say that we are through the second round of registration congestion and the timeline should really begin to pick up now. Let's hope we are all home with our gaming goodness by Thanksgiving...December 4 at the latest! Let's go!!!!!!!

Any reports of bad coil whine this time around? I haven't seen anything, but haven't really been looking either. The only reason I send cards back is bad coil whine.

No appreciable coil whine from the GPU itself here. I get a slight whine now and then from my motherboard near the PCIE slot when the card's idle, but it did that with the 2080TI this replaced too. Wouldn't be audible even if I were sitting there specifically listening for it if I didn't have the side panel off the case at the moment.

Did you get a Strix? Was it a stock availability decision? Just curious your mindset? Likely, in gaming you wouldn't even be able to tell the difference.

Yes I got Strix 3090. Originally I had my mind set on 3090FTW, but didn't take long before I changed my mind, at one point started to be obvious. I use my card for computing work so 24GB ram is great, for gaming, no, absolutely not needed.

Yes the wait is over, although another one is on its way should be here tomorrow, upgrading my neurology machine learning. My nephew purchased Strix 3090 as well after having few 3090FTW died on him, has is very happy. The build quality of Strix is outstanding and right out of the box 1915MHz on quiet mode and 2010MHz OC on air

Congratulations on ending your watch. Your nephew's ASUS numbers are impressive with basically no tinkering. From everything I've heard, it is a good card and a solid build. I hope it works out for y'all. Enjoy!

I always get Asus server grade motherboards and never have issues, they are build to last, but I never thought I would go Asus GPU until now. Maybe down the road when I see EVGA sorting things out and see less consistent issues I will reconsider, for now we choose what we think its best. Cheers

FYI -- I learned (late) that there was a small drop on Walmart at $1799 this morning that stayed up for a few minutes...somebody in the "notification" thread was able to snag one of them. Given that the cards stayed up for a bit...maybe the bot behavior on the 3090s is slowing down a bit (one can hope). Good luck today!

Looking at the spreadsheet for the 3090 P/N: 24G-P5-3987-KR looks like #459 ordered and I should be at about 489 as I put mine in on 10/13/2020 @ 8:31:30 Is there a good guestament on how long of a wait that is ? Few days, few weeks, few months ? I won enough on a lottery ticket to pay for it ... I'm just hoping it gets here before the urge to "reinvest" that money gets too strong lol

With a pretty small "straggler" drop yesterday, the timeline moved 38 minutes, 17 seconds. Now that the queue is through the 10/5-10/6 "queue announcement" congestion window, I think its progress through the timeline will substantially increase. I wouldn't be surprised to see a single "regular" drop to move the queue forward more than a day or three. Best of luck!

Looks like it's getting closer to 6PM on the 6th. Kind of wondering about reliability from EVGA though. I've heard mixed information about this. I have an Asus 2080ti and it has been rock solid.

I don't have a 30 series installed, so cannot comment on any experience with the cards' reliability. However, EVGA's customer service and RMA efforts are second to none. If you have a problem, they will help you out. Best of luck!

Getting so close now. Also, I find it hard to believe that EVGA has more issues with their cards than other companies. Maybe, there is more visibility to the EVGA issues because they make it easier to talk about them. Ever looked at the Asus forums? It's a ghost town that might see one or two tourists show up from time to time... I've only ever had to RMA one EVGA card, a 9800 GT with a bad DVI port. I've had EVGA cards since than every year except the 2080TI that I have now.

I've never had to RMA an EVGA card, but a friend did years ago. It was a really straight forward process. As far as I am concerned, best in the industry.
