Turn around time was exactly 9 days (calendar) from nearest Post Office to my home on Vancouver Island, B.C. Canada to new replacement Card delivered to my home. Just looking for a little feedback on results of testing my RMA Replacement Card today. Harder for me to wrap my head around numbers as Im used to the Card being under water, so had to "re-teach" myself how to set up an aggressive fan curve profile. Set-up so it hits around 80% at 55c then up to 90% at 65c I found the Boost really drops as soon as the Card gets in the 65c + range, in some cases. RMA Replacement 3080Ti FTW3 vBios info (looks like initial release versions 20th April 21): Normal Vbios version: 94.07.71.00.AF OC vBios version: 94.07.71.00.BO Test PC is somewhat crippled by old X79 platform, but did some tweaking to help GPU out a bit: X79 Rampage IV- Extreme 3930K - OC'd to 4.2 Ghz (all cores) - 6c/12t 2*16G Corsair Dominator 1866 C9 AX1200i Started out with GPU at stock and everything seemed ok, booted up fine and clean installed latest Driver 496.76 Where I got to in less aggressive increments than what I normally do and didnt want to push it too hard, as Im not used to air cooling, just want to make sure its ready for a re-installation of my Vector WB.. Across all tests below Power Draw according to GPU-z (I know not entirely accurate) - Max Board Draw: 451.6w - PCI Slot: 55.7w - PCI-E #1: 153.8w - PCI-E #2: 158.4w - PCI-E #3: 88.5w +135 / +775 (for perspective my Card that I returned under water Max I found was +195 / +1275). - Power Limit Max - No added Voltage - likely a lot more in the tank yet. Port Royal - 13,887 Avg Boost: 2048, Avg Temp 62c GPU Utilization: 98% pretty much throughout TimeSpy - 14,141 GPU - 19,562 CPU - 5502 (hit hard here with an old 3930K) Avg Boost: 2065, Avg Temp 61c GPU Utilization: 84% - 96% Shadow of Tomb Raider 2560*1440p - All Max Settings / DLSS "Quality" Boost 2100 - 2115 / Max Temp 61c GPU Utilization: dips down to 65%-70% in the 3rd scene with temp dropping to 56c Avg Framerates: 101 FPS Valhalla 2560*1440p - All Max Settings Boost 2100 Max Temp 61c GPU Utilization: 82% - 90% Avg Framerates: 89 FPS Min 36 FPS / Max 130 FPS 6.03 G VRAM Looped Heaven for about 30 min 2560 * 1440p / Extreme Preset - Boost 2040 - 2085 - Temps Max 68c Benchmark Score - 4124 With this Card I know there will be some big improvements with 9900K / 3200 C14 RAM, but the card will eventually be teamed up with a 12900k, Maximus Z690 Apex, whenever I can get my mitts on some DDR5 ! I did notice some "hitching" in a couple of the scenes in both SOTR and defintely Valhalla, but I believe this is likely due to slow DDR3 RAM / CPU combination. For what its worth I dont believe my Card I sent back ever reached 2100 Boost, even under water, but cant remember for sure without checking notes. Anyhow, I posted this for folks also expecting a replacement card thru RMA and of course to get some feedback from some of the more knowledgeable sources. So far I think the replacement card looks n runs fine and will install the Water Block in a month when I get back home from work. Also, the RMA replacement card pretty much looks like a new card, other than a little marking around the holes on the securing bracket and lack of plastic film. Card came in an Evga non-retail box and was within a anti static bag. There was no rubber piece on the the retention bracket or PCI-E slot portion of PCB. I know, a long post, but as said for those "wondering" ...

Thanks for sharing. I wonder how much was it for you to ship and what courier you used?

wow, that's a steep price. Congrats on getting the replacement card! I am wanting to submit an RMA as one of the fan is making noise. It is just grinding. I went through their RMA and it seems very anti-customer while they try to be anti-scalper. Would you mind sharing more details: 1. They said you won't get the original box back, is that the case? I see you got a non-retail box. 2. Did you put the original box inside another cardboard box w/ packing peanuts etc? 3. Did you do standard RMA or Cross-ship RMA? 4. If it's a manufacturing defect, do they cover the shipping charges afterwards?

1. RMA Card is within a "proper" inner foam package, but outer box is non retail generic "Evga Box" with a simple p/n and s/n identifier on the outside of the box (good looking generic Evga box, however you would never know what is inside), other than the small p/n and s/n sticker). 2. When I sent the the defective card back: - Original stock air cooler re-installed w original thermal pads and thermal putty. - Card was packaged within the original retail box (just how I got it), even included the unused accessories. - original retail box was packaged in a generic shipping box with lots of crumpled news paper and some packaging bubble stuff (I'm a pack rat and keep a lot of that packaging material from all of my parts I have shipped to my house). 3. No cross ship available as I'm in Canada and because I had a person purchase the Card for me, its considered "second hand", again no cross shipment available. - Yes standard RMA 4. All expenses were covered by Evga for shipment from Brea to my home on the westcoast (Canada) and no surprise Brokerage / Customs fees (at the border and prior to being delivered). I paid for the shipping of the defective card from my home to Brea, Cal. I also included a typed "report" of my findings, with any symptoms leading up to the failure and troubleshooting I had already tried and included that document within the box w the defective card. Overall was painless, having gone thru an RMA of a X58 Evga Motherboard (many years ago) and stepping up a Motherboard to a Classified Board, as well as a couple of step ups with GPU's, there never have been any unpleasent surprises. Being a "techy" kind of guy, would be a nice touch if "repaired RMA Cards" had some sort of brief service record come with the replacement card (just saying what the problem with the card was and the fix).

I don't post a lot, but have been following the forums here for years, er, decades! Kudos to you, rjbarker, for your super-helpful, well-detailed posts that keep others informed with valuable information. I don't know if these cards are all ticking time-bombs, or what to expect. There really does seem to be something very wrong with the Ampere lineup, especially the 3080's and up. Not just EVGA. Multiple RMA's? Yeah, I've been there myself, back in the stone age I had three EVGA 6800 Ultras go bad, after spending several hundred dollars to ship them back, I told them I couldn't afford to keep replacing them. Darwin himself agreed to give me a refund for card #3 instead of another replacement. I went with AMD (actually ATI back then) for a few years, then back to EVGA for a successful series of card upgrades, other than a 480, which bit the dust after about a year. A couple EVGA 780Ti's, and a 980Ti KPE worked fine for me after that. I bought an EVGA 3080FTW3 Ultra a few months ago, with an EK Quantum Vector block, from Dazmode, as you had previously. I had EK send me the three slimmer standoffs, taking no chances. So far, so good. How much longer, who knows. I wish you all the best with your replacement 3080 Ti, may it live a long life!

No problem......its always good to "get the goods" vs "rumours and I heard this from my friend" ;) Heres hoping your RMA is a good one....I tested my Card hard for 2 days on air and all seemed ok, unfortunately Im away at work now so wont be able to re-install the Water Block and put it thru its paces until I get home on the 28th Dec! Really hoping my DDR5 is waiting for me so I can try the Card out on my Apex / 12900k prior to moving into my loop!
