Hello, does anyone knows the specifications / thickness of the thermal pads and the locations on the pcb that EVGA uses for the 3080ti ftw3?

Also, after cleaning up the thermal putty, can I replace it thermal paste or thermal pads instead? It’s so difficult to look for an aftermarket thermal putty.

Hmmm. Nothing that says anything about the 3080TI unless 3080 and 3090 have the same thermal pad placement and sizes ?

I got home and first thing i did was opened up the whole GPU, itsnot big its mostly an exhaust pipe :X..  Then i put theral paste over everything that touches the frame. These spots have little thermal pads i guess u could call them, theyr just pads reallyt.. I goooooed up the pads and the exhaust pipe too. used a whole tube on it. It doesnt even get to 70 cellsius in socal summer...when installed i have 2 fans blowing out of the doorless case.

Please note that if you ever need to RMA the card - we will need the factory thermal pads installed. We can assist in the stock pads prior to RMA.

If this is true then EVGA should be making it very easy for us to buy/obtain a full and complete set of replacement pads and putty.

The putty is available to purchase directly from the website. That pads, however, are not. Hopefully this changes down the road… or immediately since they seem to be a common need.

Anyone know the thermal specs on the putty and pads on 3080 TI FTW3 Ultra? I see their Kingpin waterblock comes with this brand: https://www.thermazig.com/
But I can't find any info on the thermal characteristics. Their site shows pads from 3.2 W/mK to 13 W/mK. And I can't find anything on the putty. I would like to replace all the pads and putty with the most thermally conductive I can find but there's no point in replacing them if they're already using 13 W/mK.

I'm currently getting rather terrible temps of 87C on the GPU and 94C on the memory in a room that's probably around 75 f after only about 5 minutes running Ark Survival. Idles at 60 GPU, 70 Mem.

What fan profile are you using? What happens if you put the fans at 100% or the case open? What card were you using before? Remember, this is a 400-450W card. Previous 2080 Tis were 300Wish.

If you open your case and temperatures drop a lot, more than likely it is a case flow issue.

I'm curious about doing this myself. I called EVGA and asked if they would replace the thermal paste and thermal pads with my own, I have some of the Kryonaut extreme and i wanted to get some of their pads as well. Interestingly enough, they said they would be willing to replace the pads and paste for me. But it would only be with their factory standard paste and pads, they wont use mine and the rep I spoke to tried to ask for me. I was somewhat impressed they were willing to do it at all but its too bad they wouldnt be willing to use my cooling compounds. Probably better than what most companies would ever offer. The only challenge is finding a place to perform this service, Microcenter wont. I'd really rather not do it myself

They're not going to use your cooling compound because they don't want to be liable for something they didn't intentionally design too be used on their cards.
