I'm having the same issue. Recently bought an RTX 3080 XC3 Ultra and it ran fine the first day that I had it. The second day I had it as soon as a gameplay in Control started the fans ramped up to max and I lost the video signal on my monitor. The audio continued to play while all of this occurred. Since I could not see anything I had to manually reset the PC.
 
Once I reset everything was fine until I actually tried to run any sort of intensive application and then the same thing would occur. The PSU is a brand new 850W 80+ gold one since I figured my old PSU (650W) would not be sufficient for the new card. Once all of this started occurring I did try the old PSU and the exact same problem still happens. 

I have done clean install of drivers after uninstalling with DDU multiple times at this point. I am not using any sort of riser, the card is directly in the slot.

CPU: Intel 8700k
RAM: 16 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4
PSU: Seasonic Focus GX-850
 
I have been in contact with EVGA customer support and have tried all of the suggestions that they had. Nothing has worked so I have started the RMA process.
