3080 not being recognized by pcie after hybrid kit install

Basically what the title says. The fans and led come on but the mobo isnt recognizing the card. Any ideas or suggestions?

    update: opened it back up to see if there was a bad mount, but it looked fine. remounted with new paste. Hard to tell if any of the thermal pads were making contact though. Still not being detected by the motherboard.

    Another update: card works fine in another system. And an old 960 doesnt work in my mobo either. Looks like I somehow killed the pcie slots of my motherboard. Better than killing a 3080.

    Try a bios switch (if it has it) or a cmos clear.

    direct mounting or using vertical?
    I had my GPU vertical and it wouldn't read lol
    even if using the parts that came on case
    it was too short to make proper contact

    read elsewhere that a bios switch then back into normal fixes this
