Ordered a kit to replace the red lips on my gpu. Got all the backplate screws except for one that has become stripped. Grrrrr.  Im looking for some ideas on how to remove a stripped screw. There's insufficient screw head available to grab with tiny vice grips.
 
Ive read others on other forums using a rubber band, super gluing a screwdriver head into the screw head, or even, gasp, using a dremel to cut a slot in the head. 
 
Has anyone encountered a stripped screw head on a 3080 series card from EVGA and had success removing it?

    use the card in a system to heat it all up & expand things.... then try the piece of rubber band trick on the head.

    Just out of curiosity, why are you removing the backplate to replace the shroud? The backplate doesn’t come off for the shroud replacement.

    After you using an aftermarket kit or a hybrid cooler? I am guessing you aren’t using the EVGA shroud replacement if you are taking the backplate off.

    I just checked my Easy Out sets and the smallest is 3mm.  However, a quick search finds that several companies have extractors for very small screws here is one that has other tools in a kit also VMAN-Precision-Screwdriver-Extractor-Electronic and another Lee Valley-micro-extractors.
     
    I buy a lot of my woodworking tools from Lee Valley.

    If it were me, I would get it hot, as recommended, and try again. If that failed, then I would cut a slot in the screw and remove it with a flat-head screwdriver. Trying to use an easy-out on such a small screw doesn't make sense to me; the risk of accidentally popping the head off seems too high... then you will really be in trouble with trying to get the threads out.

    Im trying to replace the lips on the card and thought I was correctly following the instructions to remove the red lips and replace witht he black ones from evga

    Ok, you definitely don’t need to remove the backplate for that. There are screws only on the plate that you are replacing that need to come off.
