3080 XC3 ULTRA OWNERS - What do you think?

I have a pre-order in place for an XC3 ULTRA and i'm wondering if any current owners have any comments on the card?
How's the performance, temps and noise? Are you happy with your choice, do to you wish you had the FTW3 UTLRA?

I ask as reviews aren't plentiful at the moment.

    I would cancel that order and do an FTW card instead. I have the 3090 variant currently and it runs really hot. The cooler they put on the XC3 model is way undersized. I called EVGA and the rep I spoke with basically told me that 80c is normal for temps and that’s where my card rides basically all the time unless I’m doing DLSS or something lighter in gaming. I can’t even have the side panel on my pc or else it climbs beyond 85c. I’m really bummed EVGA sent the cards like this.

    Ouch, hoping that isn't the case for 3080...
    I think once I have it installed if I start getting buyers' remorse I'll step up to an FTW3.

    Yeah I’m currently trying to decide whether I want to do that or just return it and try my luck on something else. I’m pretty disappointed in the thermals. Card runs games like nobody’s business though. If I leave the side panel off my case it stays around 80c most of the time but I can’t even enclose it in a full tower with adequate cooling.

    I have a 3080 XC3 Ultra and I have mixed feelings about the card. Temps are usually between 72-78 while gaming or in benchmarks. The fan noise isn't super noticeable so long as it stays below 2100 rpm but my card has pretty noticeable coil whine when under load and the fps gets above 120. Performance on my card in benchmarks when comparing it to other 3080s at stock seems to be 5-10% less than the other cards.
     
    I think the FTW3 ULTRA would definitely be better with the larger cooler and ability to provide more voltage. The main limiting factor for my current card is the power availability.

    I find it sucks that I couldn't order a $699 3080 XC Black while it was on "sale". It's kinda pointless do sale pricing on stuff that has no stock to begin with, then just prior to stock arriving, jack it up on price on your website.

    Damn that is good to know. I was going for a 3090 FTW3 anyways, but i still thought the xc3 cooler looked better. Will pass that along if i have any chance to.
