My card just started giving me code 43 error after a b550 chipset update. Any ideas on how to fix?

Hi ramen_n, I am sorry to hear the GPU is getting code 43. Some steps to try first are: 1. Re-seat the GPU in the PCIE slot. 2. Run DDU/Display Driver Uninstaller 3. Re-install the Nvidia Display Drivers 4. Set Motherboard BIOS to default settings If Device Manager is still giving a Code 43 error, please send us a support ticket. We can try more troubleshooting, or setup an RMA. https://www.evga.com/support/ticket/support.aspx Regards, Peter N

Well the NVME stopped working shortly after. Nothing PCIE 4.0 worked. The card worked plugged into the second non PCIE 4.0 slot before the drive dropped. Well looks like I have to send this Mobo back.

Code 43 can mean a lot of things... #1 Fauly card. #2 Fauly pci-e slot. #3 Registry corruption. #4 Card not receiving enough power. #5 Corrupt vbios. Best thing to do would be to test the card in another known good working system to confirm that the card is the actual problem.

Yeah the PCIE 4.0 lanes got FUBARed. I put it in the second PCIE 3.0 slot and no issues. I put it my old motherboard and once again no issues. That busted MB got returned. Luckily I was still within my return window.

Ok follow up with what I learned trying to move to fully PCIE 4.0 system. Some of this advice is extremely specific. -Watch your PCIE riser, if you use one. Some are not PCIE 4.0 compatible. This can throw code 43 if you force PCIE 4.0 in the bios. -I had a B550 board and the riser did not work in the PCIE 4.0 top slot but worked in the PCIE 3.0 bottom slot. -If you are moving from a x470/b450 or earlier board AND moving to a new 5xx series board with 2 m.2 slots while adding a new PCIE 4.0 NVME while trying to keep your old Windows install on a second M.2 you might have a bad time. -If your old install of windows has the AMD raid drivers the new NVME might only show up in Windows if you have the NVME slot in bios set to RAID mode and not ACHI. The new NVME drive will only show up as removable and function very oddly. If you set the bios NVME back to ACHI the new PCIE 4.0 m.2 drive will not show up in Windows. -This is due to an AMD raid driver that will show up in device manager under storage controllers. If you see that you must somehow delete it for your PCIE 4.0 m.2 NVME to show up in Windows as a normal drive. -The easiest way I found was a fresh install of windows directly onto the NVME drive GPT formatted. I tried several times uninstalling the AMD raid driver and like a bad penny it came back after every reboot. Just wanted to get this out there it was a nightmare google searching for this.

Same situation. Code 43 on top two pcie slots on a pcie-riser (vertically mounted). Putting it in the bottom slot works. Crosshair VIII Hero Bios 23.xx. I thought it was just an nvidia installer problem at first as every time it coded, the installer would default to the non-scaled window. Final test: works great without the riser. Thought not exactly. It's loose in the recommended top x16 slot. Things I've tried so far: - Reseated card with and without riser, reseated RAM just in case
- Tried all pcie slots with and without riser, card will work in top slot horizontally, but mounting and looseness of slot cause issues.
- Replaced all power cables, tried different power rails.
- Completely uninstalled all nvidia drivers and software
1080 FTW EVGA works fine. Next step is: replace the pcie riser ribbon today with a higher rated pcie 4.0 ribbon. Tried to submit support ticket, but got an error on support page. The request from 23.241.156.100 at 2020-11-01 17:53:32 GMT for the URL /support/ticket/support.aspx cannot be served due to error 158 on the host Error Code: LB20404 Final update. Both riser ribbons--Thermaltake and Asus ROG--while they state they support pcie 4.0, they require you to set the pcie slot to "Gen3" or 3.0. Since I re-routed my power cables, I and going to skip the vertical mount and stay with the card plugged directly into the motherboard. As suggested below, CSM is currently disabled in my bios, but will try that if I ever switch back.

Hi, I have a 3080 FTW Ultra card and after forcibly restarting the PC it shows me error 43 I installed another card next to it and I see strange data from the GPU-Z program. Other graphics cards that I have 3080 FTW Ultra work well in its place. What do you recommend doing? I tried all the above recommendations (except for reflashing the BIOS). In addition, the map sells error 43 regardless of the position of the BIOS switch on the video card. I will be grateful for any advice. Thanks !

If you are using an AMD socket motherboard, either make sure you are not using a riser for the card or else set the PCI-E to Gen3 in the bios. Also as suggested above, enable CSM in your bios. Finally, install the EVGA Precision X1 software. It will check your card's bios and make any upgrades/fixes necessary. Finally, sometimes it can code from simply either a socket or power problem. Take the card out, boot the computer and get a no video Error code. Reinstall the card and make sure that it's securely mounted in the pci-e socket. Also when attaching the power cables, make sure that the cables are securely plugged in. I believe the 3080 FTW Ultra uses dual 8-pin cables. Try using different 8-pin cables from your power supply (or even different sockets on your PSU). Also try not using a splitter (if you do) and actually swap out the power cables if they are modular. Finally, try installing it in a different PCI-E slot, get the firmware and drivers updated, and then if that works reinstall it into orignal slot. Hope these suggestions give you things to try. zastavets Hi, I have a 3080 FTW Ultra card and after forcibly restarting the PC it shows me error 43 I installed another card next to it and I see strange data from the GPU-Z program.
