Yes, the 3070ti is also a very capable GPU, although I must say that a plain 3080 has better value for the price offered by EVGA, especially comparing the FTW3 Ultra ones vs. the 3070ti.
What I really like is the looks of the 3070ti that doesn't have the backplate open (all EVGA's 3080s have) and also that 2 PCIe power connectors are more than enough for 3070ti. For 3080 and especially 3080 12GB and 3080ti with 30W of increased power vs. plain 3080 that totals to 350W not overclocked is really pushing the limits of the cables / connectors and the PCI slot and have only 25W extra juice. Yes, I know that the cables and connectors are probably tested for more, but I just don't like to test the limits, especially the one of the PCIe slot which if exceeded might damage the MBO. Here the quality of the connectors like good gold plating really makes a difference.
Anyway, all these cards are very capable, but definitely a price of ~1200€ + V.A.T. is on the expensive side of things, to say the least. I presume that the 3080 12GB will be something like +5% vs. 3080 and -10% vs. 3080ti in performance, so a price shouldn't exceed 1.100€ for 3080 12GB and should not be less than 850-900€ (considering it has +2GB RAM and has 20% wider memory bus), so a bit more future proof.
The only thing that could be interesting is the heat output of the memory modules if by some chance the 3080 12GB has 6 x 2GB GDDR6X instead of 12 x 1GB GDDR6X. Waiting for a teardown after the initial benchmarks :-)
