I wanted to take a step up first and thus compensate for my small overpayment for the current 3070 and have more performance. But since I don't necessarily need the better performance and the waiting time for the StepUp is apparently very, very long. (and 3070 ti or 3080 ti no longer come in the time until I can use stepup) I save the money that StepUp would cost me and then maybe get me an rtx 4xxx or so at the end of 2022( or whenever the new generation comes out )

EVGATech_ChristianJIf somehow the item is discontinued, we would look at what options are available at the time. However, this is highly unlikely to happen and would not be something I would worry about.

It's really a shame tbh - up until now I was a strong EVGA fan. In the past the StepUp worked flawlessly and only took a reasonable amount of time. Sure, the products were usually a bit more costly than the ASUS or <insert other brandname here>-pendants but they well made up for the high price with their quality and customer support.
 
But as Archodas said: If you live in Europe then you currently are a second-rate customer - the support here is basically nonexistent (or only gives you standard answers if any), the forums are abandoned and the updates on the websites are a joke. Sorry EVGA...but your premium pricing won't work if you only supply your customers overseas with ****ty support.

Yes, it is a real bummer that we have to survive on 20XX / 3060(ti), until 3070/3080/3090 are available for step-up. 

But even if it takes another half a year.
Or a year...

You will then only pay for price difference.
And get a brand new card, with full warranty.

Sure, maybe we'll be looking at 3080 ti or 4000 series at that point, but honestly, looking at the massive shortages, I seriously doubt that. 

I mean, no other manufacturer offers a step-up program.
So yes, I could pay 1800€+ for a competitors 3080. 
But that's it. I'll never be able to upgrade that card. 

Instead, I picked up an EVGA 3080 from Caseking, for probably too much money.
But I can use it until a 3090 becomes available and then step-up for almost no cost.

So while delays for European customers are disappointing, especially when we can see that things are moving along faster in the US, it is still worth paying extra* for.

* except... there's no extra cost at this point. Yes, some vendors still have 'old prices' at 1500€-1600€, but guess what, they either never come in stock or you need a bot, because they're gone the moment they're able to be bought. 
There are a few 3080's in stock. They're 1900-2300€. And the cheaper ones are from a certain competitor with memory cooling issues. 

Also, while 3070 and 3080 step-up has moved extremely slowly, the reality is that paying 600-750€ for a 3060, means you get a card to use now.
And at some point later, you can upgrade it to a 3070 or 3080 for some extra money (basically just shipping costs if upgrading from 750€ 3060).

Its funny that the 3080 queue is moving but the 3070 not. They seem to be more interested to sell 3080 i guess…
(I even got a notification for a 3080 i signed up when it got released but i didn’t went through with the purchase)

How long is it taking for people to get from step 1 - 5 in Europe? Are there specific graphics cards that take longer/shorter?

I just got the Step 2 mail. The q is finally moving.

Alreday contacted the support, hoping I can pay before the 7 days are over.

Did you pay with Paypal? As soon as I click on the Paypal checkout button, I get an error.

Hmm a week is over and the evga support still can't help me with my problem...
Orangenschorle did you checkout by going to your products and then clicking submit payment? I get redirected to a page where my shipping address is already filled out and the only thing I can do, is clicking on the PayPal checkout button. Was it the same for you?
