The queue needs to have number that shows your position - or a expected time when you get to buy a card

Although it might be hard to integrate, having this over community-made spreadsheets that show your position is definitely an improvement.

I like the idea of the queue system, but the lack of information surrounding it is frustrating.  Some members have done a tremendous job crowdsourcing information, and that has helped me understand where the queues are at and how fast they are moving.

I think that the most of us won´t get a gpu this year. That´s sad, but don´t loose your hope. Maybe something changes in the next months

The 3080 FTW Ultra is at 1200ish on 21 Sep.  It's only gone 4 days since launch.  At this rate it will be 2023 before some people get cards.  I hope Nvidia increases production to get more chips to AIBs.

Consider how many people were sitting there ready to hit that 'notify' button right as it dropped and it would make sense why the queue only moved 4 days... Theoretically though, as the rush slightly subsided, less people started signing up per each day, so as the queue progresses we might see it moving slightly faster

Build in Progress:
CPU: Ryzen 9 5900x
GPU: RTX3080 or 3080ti  <----
Motherboard: Aorus Elite x570
RAM: 2x16GB (32GB) G.Skill Trident Z
PSU: NZXT C850 Gold
AIO: NZXT Kraken Z73 360mm
SSD: WD Black 1TB

They should give you your number in the waiting line so you can watch the progress. Would take out a lot of uncertainty...

I think it might be helpful if you posted a more exact date that you joined the queue (and possibly which queue). Then anyone responding in the forum could post if they have received a card from that queue on an entry submitted after you.  Otherwise, your case might simply be indicative of the extreme backlog facing the industry.

This is the first time EVGA, has created or used a que isn't it? I mean for a first attempt it works, but sure there is room for improvements. Like a dmv ticket system so you at least have a vague idea of your place in line with a number board or something.

EVGA should be praised for creating the queue system in the first place. Im sure that making ur queue position visible is already planned and will be introduced eventually.

I have also been in the queue for the longest...It's a shame these GPU companies haven't figured out a way to overcome these scalpers.

Re: 3000 series queue needs a rework 2021/05/26 16:34:49 (permalink)
The queue is fine. The evga prices have also increased the least compared to all other AIBs asking for more would be them spending too much money for everyone to find something else to complain about. If you don't like the queue buy a card from another vendor.

1 person one model would be unfair to those who game as a family or couple.

If you want a gpu it's possible but you have to do the research and stay on top of it like a full time job. This is easier for some than others. Everybody knows the answer but in the prime age are not willing to accept that demand far out paces supply.

Persistence, patience or payment are the three P's of GPUs these days. Try til you succeed, wait til stock levels come up or pay a reseller/prebuilt.

It would be nice if they could figure out a way to improve the queue but I am just grateful the have something in place even if it isn't perfect. I just wish I would have put in for more card in case they drop one before it gets to me. Have no interest in multiple 3080s but one would be nice. At the current rate I estimate I have a 3080 when the 5000 series comes out ;)-

As painful as the wait has been, I'm glad I'm just on a list somewhere. From what I'm seeing I'm only about 6 hours away from a 3080 FTW3 Ultra. I keep kicking myself for not joining the queue immediately though, would have had my card months ago. I saw and thought it was pointless to do the auto-notify, ugh.

Hoping they update the queue system in time for 40 series cards or refreshed 30 series cards

This que system ain't it, I've seen people get 3080s in 2 months and others who have waited 4 months. It doesn't really make sense to me.

Re: 3000 series queue needs a rework 2021/05/27 20:59:20 (permalink)
The frustrating thing to me is the total lack of transparency.  Consumers are completely in the dark about both the input and output sides of the queue, EVGA won't (that I've seen) directly address even what proportion of production is dedicated to filling queue positions, won't identify when various lines are scheduled for production, doesn't address lines that don't appear to have moved basically since launch.  We can watch companies publicly try to leverage each other over media rights to various content, but can't get Nvidia/AMD or AIBs to leverage public opinion against retailers to insist on queues, lotteries, and other strategies to engage retailer support in fighting scalping?  Or to fight retailer scalping *cough* Newegg shuffle *cough*?

Also, if consumers would get out of the truck bed full of toilet paper or bags of gas mentality when it comes to GPUs that'd be nice too.  Plenty of folks are chasing GPUs just because of FOMO/scarcity mentality.

It’s all a luck thing, I’d still rather have a chance... I’m never gonna get one through a regular website.

Re: 3000 series queue needs a rework 2021/05/29 16:55:10 (permalink)
The problem in general is that you're in a queue for a card where millions of other people around the world are waiting with you as well. The odds of you getting selected from the queue are very very low due to the demand alone.

Eventually, when the supply meets with the demand, you'll probably get a card sooner... but until then, it'll take a while. To improve your chances, get in a queue for multiple cards instead of just 1.

I've heard people waiting for like 1 or 2 cards since November and not getting anything, yet people who've selected multiple cards getting an email within 4-6 months.

The problem is that you don't even need the account to join the queue, all you need to do is type in names and email also there is no chaptcha and you can queue for every card not just one per email. Thats like paradise for bots.
