Does anyone yet know the specific time the 30 series will go up for sale on EVGA site, well as Nvidia website?
Just wondering if its usually a midnight PDT release for EVGA since west coast USA. But maybe GMT 0 at midnight because of worldwide launch, was trying to google it but no luck.

Usually those are delayed, and by the time the email batch is completely sent it could be sold out. Especially if the limited stock rumor is true.
I cannot remember but I believe 1080ti was midnight release I vaguely remember the f5 race at night haha.
Just wondering if the EVGA crew can let us know their time or if it’s secret sauce.

Last time with the 2080ti Hybrids they drop a hint in the forum a couple days before if you were watching closely you can pick one up.  I got it and they shipped it very quickly in time for Xmas much thanks to the Mods.  Hope they can release these cards earlier to official launch then last 2080ti hybrid release.

I have purchased 1080 Hybrid, 1080ti Hybrid and the 2080ti Hybrid.   All great cards all still running in systems.

Apparently Nvidia isn't allowing pre orders. So sometime on September 17th for 3080 and sometime September 24th for 3090. I am sure EVGA will inform us at what time as we get closer though.

I wouldn't count on that. 20xx series launch was terrible. With the global stuff happening now, this launch is likely to be worse and they know demand is going to be much higher.  I wonder why anyone from EVGA would even attempt to respond to that comment/article. Its only going to make them a target for angry people when this all goes bad. It sure would be nice if it went smooth though...

Those two things don't equal each other.  First of all, neither of those two sites are reputable and are banned on most PC enthusiast forums.  You made a statement saying THEY WILL be tight until end of the year, which may or may not be true.  They simply asked to not pass rumors as facts.  Even if they do have a low amount of cards on launch, that also doesn't equate to not enough cards by the end of the year.  Also, theres a chance it can be regional.  Card stock is usually tighter in US than other regions.

Exactly this. With the supply chain issues with the current world problems and the fact no-one is offering pre-orders, IMO, it's safe to say that stock is going to be extremely limited. IIRC, the 2080/2080ti sold out with 30 mins to an hour after release, IIRC. You can pretty much bank on the 3080/3090 selling out within minutes.

I'm truly scared for this launch. I don't think it'll be possible to get a card for a long time...they are going to sell out so fast and all of the sites are going to crash trying to order one.

According to Tim from NVIDIA on reddit it will be launched at 6am PST from Nvidia.

Not sure if EVGA has to follow that or if they can release at say midnight on the 17th/24th.

Guess we shall stay up all night to see.

I mean this with as much respect as I can.... People need to calm down... .. Like way down...

I personally have a build that is only waiting on the 3090 to finish a hardline setup in.  You know what. I'm excited about the 30 series but i'm not salivating and freaking out.  You may not be able to get your card day 1 but i'm pretty sure you will be able to get it. If there is one thing companies like doing it's selling your products.  So chill out.. take a deep breath... is there honestly any game you can't play right now on your current gear?

Now with that being said I bought a washer and dryer from GE in June for my wife and it still hasn't been delivered. However I'm not freaking out and that cost way more than the gpu's.

I'm actually perplexed where as many are like well the prices are sooo goooood.. and i'm over here like well crap.. I was willing to pay up to $800 for the 3080 and $1200 for a Ti version  but now that the 3090 is so close i'm just saying screw it .. I'll just pay more for the top tier card. Something I didn't even consider so they are gonna get an extra $300 outa me with this move  and the challenge will be deciding what I can get my hands on first .. a 3rd party block or an evga card with the block.  None the less when they come in it will be a fun day and that's all I can say.

edit: for some reason it says i'm a "new member"... but.... this account is from 2011.... I'm a lurker and very few things warrant a response from me. Been building PC's since 1997 and built my first 8 screen machine in 2001.

I don't either... but I will if the card I want gets a release date I probably will anyway, at least as much as I can :D

Great post, I have similar sentiments, if I can't get a 3090 at launch it's not going to be the end of the world. My 2080 Ti is still doing very well. Like you I'm springing for the fastest card this time around, I've always waited and upgraded mid-cycle (780 Ti, 980 Ti, 1080 Ti, 2080 Ti) but for me I'm going 3090 this time around because I upgraded to 2080 Ti only 6 months ago ($900 used) and although it's an appreciable bump over 1080 Ti in many titles (+40-50% in Witcher 3, SOTTR, Shadow of War, Division 2, No Man's Sky, VR etc.) it's still not enough for VR and I just want to upgrade to 3080 Ti performance right off the bat so I have that level of performance for longer and won't have to worry about not having enough VRAM (seeing 10.5GB of usage in Half Life: Alyx in the Index and 9GB in Shadow of War and The Division 2 at 3440x1440, by no means a comprehensive list of VRAM intensive titles).

Hell if the 3090 winds up being as fast as I think it will be (50-60% faster than overclocked 2080 Ti @ 2175 MHz) then I may not upgrade for 3-4 years until I really need to.

I'm probably going with an XC3 and will pair that with EK's block and backplate.

I am worried about cooling the memory modules on the top side of the PCB though and part of me wants to wait for Aquacomputer to release their active back-plate cooling block design but that may be a few months out. I may ultimately put an EKWB on it at first and then if the bank of modules under the back-plate are warmer than I would like / not conducive to an overclock (you can monitor VRAM temps with XC3) then I will probably sell that block and upgrade to Aquacomputer's block and active back-plate:

    Hi all,

I am new to pc building but have heard that EVGA is the way to go for customer service and support so I am hoping to buy a EVGA 3080 on release (presumably the 17th at 9AM). I am wondering wether you (the experts and people who have experienced card releases before) recommend trying to buy an EVGA card off the website store or off of newegg or some other vendor site. I don't know which would give me the best shot at actually being able to purchase a card so wanted to ask.

    Thank you,

When I am trying to get a card early upon release, I will typically check EVGA site, Amazon, and NewEgg.
My preference would be Amazon, but usually I find them at EVGA first.
