I've been an EVGA customer for 10+ years and have always bought SLI cards, so I've spent 10's of thousands with EVGA over the years. This launch has been an epic disaster. Both launches I had cards in my cart and was UNABLE TO COMPLETE the transaction. I just got stuck at spinning bubbles and nothing happened. Then, I magically get booted out and the cards are removed because they are out of stock.

I'm done with you EVGA. This is a complete joke.

Same happened to me. I'm so frustrated. Literally sat there for and hour and a half clicking and resubmitting.

I honestly think this time around was pretty successful considering the current situation.

I saw so many people post that they got one, which means REAL people getting them this time.

Except you have loyal Elite members who sat there for 2 hours just to have it auto-removed from their cart when it went "public" -- wouldn't really call that successful at all. The Elite member idea was great. The implementation was completely garbage.

This really doesn't have much to do with EVGA.. there's literally thousands of people trying to buy it.. it's unprecedented. I'm frustrated too.. was stuck at checkout for a long time.. didn't get it.  :/

Yeah, we are all frustrated. What they should do is focus on making their stack more reliable under load.

EVGA / other partners are in an impossible situation because Nvidia decided they're going to set the world record for the 'most like a paper-launch of a non-paper launch'. Unlike all other vendors, at least you got a (frustrating) chance that you couldn't even have with Asus etc.

You could repeat this post for every single AIB in existence.

I don't understand how once you "Add to cart" the thing isn't removed from inventory and reserved for that person.

That's just like walking into a store and seeing someone have an item in their shopping cart and just grabbing the product from their physical cart.        And this applies to nearly all the online retailers too, the card isn't pulled from inventory until you complete the checkout process.

Yep. EVGA’s website and customer service in terms of this launch are a complete joke though, so what do you expect?

five people is not "so many".

Anyone with an ounce of common sense would have captcha gated the first page, not the last in addition to cross verifying with a just-in-time account token. You know, like real businesses do. This was essentially deliberate on nVidia's behalf, and since nvidia actually own part of evga's principal debt, evga does what they're told to do, which is why there are no preorders, gotta have that FOMO. The ironic part is if the rumors are true and Navi 21 is 10% =/- the 3080 for way less draw and way less money and will have five times the stock at launch, nVidia will have effectively screwed both their AIBs and their customers on a literal marketing stunt

Unfortunately every single retailer and etailer is having the same problem. Not unique to EVGA. But hopefully they will pave the way to making changes, and let us pre-order and be on a list for shipment, and they can weed out the bots while we wait.

I don’t think EVGA is really to blame for nvidia not having enough supply. I’m sure they’d love to sell as many cards as they can

I'm hoping the process is smoother for the next batch of 3090 cards. I'm sad that I didn't know about some of the cards being locked behind elite status.

Evga couldn't even handle the low stock they had. If they had more, the site would have even crashed more. This release is just too big for a small website like Evga to handle. I'm also done trying as well. I'll throw my money at a  different company.

What they need to do is stop posting about their stock drops it just gives bots easy access and their website can’t handle the load at all. Shadow drops or email your customers and hope they don’t leak it idk what else you can do besides preorders

    Unprecedented! they say.

What a lie. Just another failed launch as they trot out every excuse in the book.

Anyone in charge of any part of this could have seen the unbelievable demand at least 3 months ago. If they didn't see it, then they don't deserve their jobs.

I'm right here in the same boat with you guys. I gotta admit, I got my hopes unreasonably high when I saw "elite members only" for the 2 top 3090s today. The pain is REAL when u make it all the way to the end and "submit order" simply won't work. Fellas, just please exercise some patience, DON'T feed the scalpers. The next drop seems to be BestBuy in less than a month.

I know emotions are flying high right now, but EVGA seems to have done a better job at keeping douchebags at bay than other retailers - big props to the team. It appears that most EVGA's on scalpers' hands are from MicroCenter and tbh those guys who stayed in line since the 22nd just to get one card - they earned that 1k they gonna make on top. It's sad to see that even for legit customers who just want to enjoy the fresh release of the beloved brand a bot tends to be a necessity these days. I know I'm gonna start coding one. I won't distribute it, I'll never reduce to scalping - I'm just tired of getting assed out all the time. At this point I see no other option besides fighting fire with fire.

I am SHOCKED at how many people have treated getting a GRAPHICS CARD as if it were a life or death situation.  Boggles the mind.  The level of overreaction from people who are salty that they couldn't get a computer part DAY ONE is totally ridiculous.  We are in a disastrous year where a worldwide pandemic has caused MASSIVE delays in the manufacturing and shipping of PC components.  Shortages abound for everything from mobos to CPUs to power supplies.  You basically can't even get a 10900K CPU still and they've been out for months.

People need to learn to chill tf out and relax.  You got on here to complain so vehemently about not getting a 3090 on release day that you've now said you won't even buy from EVGA anymore...AND YOUR PROFILE PICTURE SHOWS THAT YOU ARE RUNNING TWO 2080 Tis IN SLI RIGHT NOW!  No offense, but you need to re-evaluate some aspects of your life if you are ready to dump a company like EVGA just because you couldn't get a freaking GRAPHICS CARD THAT EVERYBODY KNEW WOULD BE IN SHORT SUPPLY on the very first release day and you are sitting there typing your angry message to EVGA on a computer that has not one, but TWO 2080 Tis in it!  The fact that you can complain about something as ridiculous as that when you have a PC that handles ANY current game at 4K resolution and max settings as well as a single 3090 probably will is BEYOND ridiculous.  Many people are struggling to keep food on the table and a roof over their head in these tough COVID times and you are on here raging because you weren't able to replace your $2,500 dual graphics cards with a single $1,800 graphics card.  Oh yeah, and you aren't raging because you will NEVER get a 3090...you are raging because you weren't able to get a 3090 ON THE FIRST DAY OF RELEASE!

And I say all that as somebody who is DESPERATELY in need of an entire new gaming rig.  I built my current rig a decade ago when I was PC gaming all day, every day.  Fully watercooled i7-980x rig with EVGA X58 mobo and two EVGA Hydro Copper GTX 580s in SLI.  In all I spent somewhere around $6,000 for my rig 10 years ago.  Gamed with it every day for a little over 5 years then life changed and I stopped PC gaming almost completely until I got back into it more heavily when RDR2 came out on PC last year.  I had to buy a new EVGA 2070 Super back in January just to get RDR2 to run on this old girl...the GTX 580s were too old to even get the game to start.  I got the 2070 Super instead of the 2080 Ti because I knew these 30-series cards were coming.

I've been waiting patiently for both the new Zen 3 CPUs, perhaps new X670 mobos (which nobody seems to know if they even exist) and the RTX 3090 (maybe even 2 depending on the level of performance one OC'd EVGA 3090 can get me in RDR2 and Cyberpunk) in order to build a totally new rig...I'm going all-out again just like I did back in 2010.  I HAVE TO upgrade my rig because it's literally too old to even manage max graphics settings at 1080P and eek out 60 FPS.  4K gaming is a pipe dream.  I haven't been able to enjoy RDR2 or ANY recent PC game like I wanted to specifically because my rig is so old and I'm waiting for all of these new components to release.  So I am one of the people who truly NEEDS a 3090 from EVGA...the FTW3 Hydro Copper is what I intend to get.  Guess what?  I tried and couldn't get an air-cooled FTW3 3090 today and if I can't get a Hydro Copper 3090 on release day (whenever that is) I will simply make due with my 2070 Super for a few more months until stock rebounds...AND I'M NOT GOING TO WHINE ABOUT IT!

My man, only a handful of games released in 2019 still have SLI profiles and NONE released in 2020. Running a twin 2080 Ti myself I can tell you it won't give you a decent frame rate in CoD MW maxed out at 4K. I do, however, agree with you on all other accounts.

sweet one less person in line!

Just go buy one from a scalper then, since you're obviously ready to crap on anyone with a legitimate grievance.

Would something like two factor authentication using a cell phone prevent bots before the checkout process?

I find it slightly ironic that you are telling people to chill out, while you yourself sound rather emotional about this.  I understand your point about the pandemic and that the card isn't "life or death", I think OP is more upset about the scalpers and bots. At least that is how I read it. I don't think they are complaining about the global shortages, just the fact that scalpers are destroying this launch.

I just don't think these cards were ready to launch. Not even EVGA's fault.

I honestly think this time around was pretty successful considering the current situation.

I saw so many people post that they got one, which means REAL people getting them this time.

five people is not "so many".

The ironic part is if the rumors are true and Navi 21 is 10% =/- the 3080 for way less draw and way less money and will have five times the stock at launch, nVidia will have effectively screwed both their AIBs and their customers on a literal marketing stunt

    smh

Five people? LOL? There was like 20 people in my thread alone that were able to buy an RTX 3090.

Just because YOU didn't get one, doesn't mean we didn't get one.

Nvidia said it was limited supply, even moreso than the 3080, So what did you expect?
