good morning
a few days ago I received my new 2080ti ftw3 ultra hybrid.
the problem I immediately notice are the temperatures.
playing at 3440x1440 (21: 9) at bfv, graphics settings "high", the graphics card temperatures are at 85 ° C.
the (tiny) radiator hoses are extremly hot , to the point of not even being able to touch them and the radiator (underdeveloped for me for a 300 + W card) is so hot that it cannot be held in hand.
the liquid flows inside, the pump works and everything circulates, but it seems absurd to me that the board reaches those temperatures.
is this normal for you?

Hello my tips for this is a agresive fan profile in presision x1 that will solve the 85 c temp
try agresive or custum fan profile to be more agresive if no working try reduce power target or temp limit

i don't think 85 deg C is normal for hybrid GPU.  can you post a photo of your GPU and radiator as installed?

I completely agree. My 2080 ti FTW 3 (non-hybrid) gets a max of 60 - 63 deg C under max load on the GPU die. Something is seriously wrong here.

Yep I play at 3440x1440. Also I have a bit of an OC on the card too (GPU overclocked with 140 Mhz).

In addition to setting aggressive fan mode, I'd like you to try 2 things.

    1) Under fanspeed, unlink the fans.

    2) Can you move your radiator hoses so that they do not droop below the GPU?

Did this (in particular #2) reduce your temps any?

People have reported that the ray tracing titles put extra load and temps on the card because they use cores that wouldn't normally used.  Maxing out the radiator fan is a must.  You're also feeding the radiator fan warm exhaust air that has already been through the front AIO and past the VRM heatsinks on the MB, and it's slightly being starved of air pressure by the top exhaust fans.

You may want to test reversing the rad fan so it's intaking in a push configuration, and add another fan for push pull.  Make sure there is plenty of space behind the PC and that area is kept free of dust. I get 50-55C temps on my 2080ti hybrid kit with an OC and 130% max power (338w), but am running two noctua A12's push pull intake, 4K 60hz with vsync, and don't run ray tracing titles.

Couldn't hurt to check the TIM either.

    yes  I set 100% and max 80 ° C GPU

    i dont use ray tracing
I ordered an ek vardar 120 for the radiator and 3 Noctua NF-P12 redux-1700 for the front case, so that they get air inside.
the problem is that when I have the case closed (c700p) the front panel is so closed that my current 3x140 corsair af140 have no practical air to move.

other thing, having a h115i on the processor (i7 9700k) I notice that the tubes and the radiator remain cold and, despite the temperature is similar (50/60 ° C) the air released by this radiator is cold while the air expelled from the small rad of 2080ti is hot, with consequent boiling of the tubes and of the radiator itself. is it normal?

It is normal, that's why GPU AIO rads need the coolest air possible because they get so saturated they need to exhaust all of that heat.  While I don't agree with 120mm rads for GPUs (Prefer 240mm), I understand why some companies go with that size so they don't gimp some of their consumers who might only be able to fit a 120mm rad in their rig.  Going higher than that could cause issues but I believe they should create a modular system so you're either able to upgrade to a 240mm rad or be able to choose between a 120mm or 240mm version of that SKU (GPU).  For a small company though being so popular with high demand, that might be asking them for too much as well which is completely understandable.

So far, 120mm is ok but if you want good-greater cooling, NZXT G12 bracket + 240mm rad of your choice that's in their compatibility list or custom liquid cooling which could cost you as much as a mid-high end GPU.  Of course none of this is possible without cooler ambient room temps.  That is basically the fuel used and if there isn't enough 'cool fuel', you'll see less of a difference on a higher size rad anyways.

Lots of variables at play at the end of the day.  Kevin's temps are that cool because he's checked off everything down the list with rad location, having very premium rad fans in push and pull and pretty cool ambient temps.  Most will not get those kind of AIO temps and that sometimes creates confusion because people read these things and expect the same on their end panicking that their GPU isn't operating as it should when all is fine.

Thanks, adjusting the fan curves I already noticed improvements, with PUBG at 55 ° all medium 3440x1440 (!!!)

Did you noticed fan speed when you experienced this issue?

I think there might be some bug in vbios: sometime when you launch your PC or launch X1 - radiator fan speed never changes (and X1 displays only 1 fan, radiator fan is missing) and stays on minimum RPM all the time, so it is not surprising to get 85C in this conditions. But in normal conditions fan should be at 100% at about 50-55C, and this is noisy, you should hear it.

I thank you for pointing out the problem,

I noticed that sometimes the fans on evga precision are not set automatically on AUTO and therefore the stock fan on the pcb does not start, consequently increasing all the heat and bringing the gpu to over 80 °.

When the fans are manually set to AUTO, the one on the PCB starts again and the temps remain at 55/60 ° C

so I realized what the problem is, sometimes the stock fan on the gpu doesn't start automatically.

"Auto" is not "manual".  Auto is how the card works out of the box when software doesn't interject itself.  Might as well uninstall Precision and enjoy your bug-free life.  Apparently Precision keeps switching to an absurd manual setting, the fans don't come on, and then the water cooling system gets absurdly hot.

When the fans are manually set to AUTO, the one on the PCB starts again and the temps remain at 55/60 ° C

"Auto" is not "manual".  Auto is how the card works out of the box when software doesn't interject itself.  Might as well uninstall Precision and enjoy your bug-free life.  Apparently Precision keeps switching to an absurd manual setting, the fans don't come on, and then the water cooling system gets absurdly hot.

    what should i use instead?

solution to "when i start the pc and it automatically starts evga precision, on STEAM the "running" program remains. How can I remove it?"
download precision from website and run out steam that way

Did you noticed fan speed when you experienced this issue?

I think there might be some bug in vbios: sometime when you launch your PC or launch X1 - radiator fan speed never changes (and X1 displays only 1 fan, radiator fan is missing) and stays on minimum RPM all the time, so it is not surprising to get 85C in this conditions. But in normal conditions fan should be at 100% at about 50-55C, and this is noisy, you should hear it.

    454/5000

I thank you for pointing out the problem,

I noticed that sometimes the fans on evga precision are not set automatically on AUTO and therefore the stock fan on the pcb does not start, consequently increasing all the heat and bringing the gpu to over 80 °.

When the fans are manually set to AUTO, the one on the PCB starts again and the temps remain at 55/60 ° C

so I realized what the problem is, sometimes the stock fan on the gpu doesn't start automatically.

So its maintaining decent temps in BF5 now?

    YES. ~ 55°C

Afterburner will/should control both fans at once as a percentage from its single slider or curve and seems to be more reliable, it will typically only run a preset or full stock settings, minimal glitches. The OSD also seems to be more tuneable.

Also afterburner cant control radiator fan because it is actually 3rd fan:

What if you just didn't use Precision or Afterburner, didn't control the LEDs or fans, just used the card as it was designed, and everything worked perfectly fine?

Have you definitively confirmed it doesn't work?  Like I said above, on my normal 2080Ti Afterburner controls both fans on one slider, you get separate RPM readouts of the fans in HWMonitor.

It still has a higher power limit and is water cooled. GPU Boost 4.0 ensures that it runs near peak performance without you needing to do anything. An indetectable couple percentage points of higher performance may not be worth it if you can't figure out how to make it operate properly when manually forcing your wishes upon it.
