Hey guys, I have an issue with ftw3 hybrid card: I am using 2x noctua industrial (2000 PWM) with PWN fan splitter, connected to graphic card. At default settings (or bios controlled fans) everything is acting quite good, but noisy: fans kicks near 100% RPM at 50 degrees, so I am getting about 56-58 degrees in furmark under OC, which is too cold and noisy for me :) I don't mind to have 70 degrees on my board and I can achieve 72 degrees in furmark if I lock fan to 55% RPM (~1100), and that is kind of silent work.

But I can't control fans via afterburner at all and I can't control it via x1: VRM fan control works perfect, but rad fans are bugged or something, same for additional GPU fan header and same for single EVGA stock fan: every time I set some RPM here - fan start spinning up, but half second later torque drops to zero (I can feel it with my hands due to lack of prop reactive moment) and fan stopping. After that it starts slowly spinning up - like +5% rpm every second. It takes infinite time to reach 100%: actually it takes 30 seconds!
So if I just set fan curve in x1 - fan works at very low rpm: 300-400, because every time rpm is changed - fan actually turning off and it has no time to spin up because changes comes every second even if you setting flat fan curve.

I can try to plug fans to motherboard, but currently I am running asus ai suite to control fan, and they are greedy or something: I had asus rog strix before (it dieded...) and ai suite showed me its gpu temp and I was able to control fan based on gpu temp. But it doesn't shows evga gpu temp "because its not asus" :( And I don't know what software I can use for fans control: was using speedfan for years, but batteye banned it due to vulnerability and there is no updates for that, project is kind of dead.

So... wth?

You're better off powering and controlling your GPU rad fans through your MB or a controller.  Don't forget, you're pulling power from the GPU as it could cost you stability when OCing/benching imo.

If those fans are PWM, have a look at a QUADRO controller ($40).  Fairly affordable as you're able to use Aquasuite to control it.  It won't work with voltage control iirc.

Well, noctua fans needs about 2 watts, I don't think that is too much for 370w card :)
Also I don't like idea to buy external fan hub just because I have at least 12 (1A) + 2 (3A) + 3 ext (1A) fan hubs on my motherboard - and I am using only 7 of them.
The problem is I don't know what software I can use to control all fans and maybe even gpu pump. AI Suite is vendor locked and speedfan is dead.
And also I want to run x1 because it is a bit better than afterburner (at least it can downclock further than msi which is good for me). So perfect solution is to control gpu fan via x1 (I even can plug pump to AUX fan header lol) - but it is bugged or something... Or maybe I need to update firmware, I don't know and thats why I am asking what is happening with fan control in x1.

Recently installed a hybrid kit on my 2080Ti XC gaming and was surprised that I had excellent fan control through Afterburner, both the VRM and and my twin Noctua A12's got the same percent/PWM signal and seemed to run at stable but different RPMs.  This is with an adapter cable to the card's cable and connector, with the pump connected to a MB header via another cable.  However, at max fans the system could not pass Timespy and would BSOD crash the system.  At below 50% fans it would pass. Ended up plugging the fans into the MB and have them going 1800 rpm when the CPU goes above 38C, still really quiet and usually get temps 50-55c gaming at high load.  Max 47C in Timespy run with 100%/2000rpm fans.  Almost went with the industrial fans but found that the A12's offered nearly the same performance at much lower volume. Not sure what will cure your current issue, good luck.

So this bug affects only me? :)

I couldn't control my noctua fan at all if I plugged it into the video card. It ramped up to 100% on system boot and just stayed there. Had to plug it into the mobo to be able to control it properly. I think the PWM connections going to the GPU just don't accept industrial iPPC Noctua fans.

Well, but I have same issue with stock fan.
Maybe in your card pwm cable is broken...
