Recent information is suggesting that Nvidia will release a 2080ti Super...
  • Fully unlocked for overclocking, think no power limit.
  • New chips, not just binned versions of the current chips.
  • Same price point as current generation RTX cards.
  • Current generation RTX cards will be seeing a price drop and eventually discontinued.

Full disclosure I would take these things with a grain of salt, but this could be an interesting move. Thoughts? Anyone know if there is any truth to this, I am not 100% convinced this is going to happen? Seems like a great way to make everyone that just purchased the current generation of RTX cards really un-happy...

And can you imagine how many people that bought the overpriced 20 series that will be tripping over themselves to buy this even higher priced card? And yes, there are going to be many many unhappy people with this. Lesson learned in this hobby,

Maybe it will come with even more " premium packaging " to ease the sting, because we all know that the box it comes in improves FPS.

    I actually agree.

Bogus rumor. If anything they will come out with something with the full TU102 chip. And that difference is almost negligible when you compare to a current high end Ti with good overclocks.

They’ll probably do a 2080 Super with faster memory and a slightly better price. I’d be shocked if they bump out the Ti.

No 2080ti super only 2080,2070,2060 all with higher bandwidth gddr6 and better chip binning from everything I've heard grain of salt though dont see then doing anything with the 2080ti if they did it would start to compete with the rtx titan. Scratch that you might be right just read an article saying new 2080ti 2080 2070 2060 all with newer chips as early as this month or next

very interested in what is going to happen here, I love my 2080 ti's (hope to sell one before new ones get released) but this could be a big win for nvidia if it goes how the articles are reporting.

This is where I initially read it... https://wccftech.com/exclusive-nvidias-super-gpus-unleashing-monsters/. More outlets seem to be reporting that that the 2080ti will NOT get a remake. I am not sure if any of this is true... I am skeptical. I agree with what you are saying regarding the upset buyers, having the newest and best in the tech world in general is expensive and often frustrating. If you have the money and that is your thing go for it, but dont complain about it... at least that is my thoughts on it.

You guys got the info from 'click baiting' wcc?  They've been so off for so long, I'd consider them part of the fake news umbrella.  They're so click bait, they push any rumor that they hear.  They are the tabloid news of the tech/PC world.

Yes, I've heard of possibly a slightly faster VRAM 2080 and lower but nothing on the Ti's and even if they did, no freakin big deal.  Not a huge jump or difference so no sour grapes here if the rumors are true.

If you're looking for a GPU, either purchase now or risk a product out of stock or wait for this rumor, if it's true you buy that and than a new generation will be out a year from than.

This is good news, price will be reduced and new and more powerful products released. I understand I would be pissed if I bought a card last week but this happens every time something new is released.

People still have step-up so anyone looking for a GPU now could still purchase one and upgrade later via paying the difference as long as it's within the 90 day window from the purchase date.

Guess if you bought another brand then EVGA I could see being slightly upset but still I look at the games I want to play being playable not the cards that comes out after I pull the trigger. The step-Up program though is great since some people might get a Super card very cheap.

Another reason to stick to evga then. But the 3 month even if good, in these cases is not enough. What would evga say in this scenario?

For the already insane prices of a 2080 ti, they should give everyone who bought one 50% off on the 2080 ti super and let them keep there old ones upon proof of purchase....if this is to really happen. 2080 ti super is what should have been released in Sept.2018 to begin with....imho.

It would end up being a huge slap in the face to those buyers spending that much on a top of the line card just to have something faster and cheaper come out so soon.

The core falsehood in these rumors is that somehow Nvidia is going to be offering more processing power per GPU for less money, when prices are already down 30% from a year ago.  Just look at 1080 Ti and 2080 price histories.  Not going to happen.

The only reason the 2080 Ti commands a price premium is because its one of the very few ways to get the most capability possible in a single GPU - if you could SLI two 2070 with good compatibility, binned 2080 Ti's would be $950 all day.  Everything 2080 and below is purely a commodity at this point. It is HIGHLY unlikely they will release anything with a drasticly better price to performance ratio.

AMD is not a threat at all.
