I had random problems with my EVGA 2080Ti FTW3 Ultra. Pc hangs , than screens goes to sleep and pc is unresponsive and I need to hit reset. I've put my old EVGA 1080Ti and stable as rock, no problems. I RMA card and today got new one... same behavior even less stable than previous one. But this time I found out than when staring EVGA Precision X1 software it right away locks everything and screens go to sleep and pc unresponsive. I swapped to 1080 started EVGA Precision X1 --- NO PROBLEMO.
I recorder even the video of this whole thing https://youtu.be/RVP_la-43Cc
And here's 1080Ti no problem: https://youtu.be/Q5ODjG5q6oA
So now what ?! Last RMA took two months!!!

Remove X1 reboot with 1080 .. then DDU drivers .. then test with 2080Ti

Make sure if your monitor has a deep sleep mode .. turn it off

Have you watched my video? It's not only black screen, after starting Precisions mouse freezes and than monitors turn off and pc is unresponsive.
I don't see any deep sleep option in my Dell U2515H monitors.
This freezing always happens when starting Precision X1 but it also happens randomly, never know when. Which makes any work impossible.

AGIAN!!!! NO SUCH THING WHEN USING 1080Ti !!!

No I did not watch your video ... I did read your post

Yes ... I am suggesting ...............TESTING ................ with X1 uninstalled .... as you believe it is a possible cause

Because you are having issues with 2080 ... I suggested using the 1080 to run PC till you uninstall X1

DDU would allow a clean install of your Nvidia driver

No idea which Nv drive or X1 ver your running you did not mention it in your post

I'm running Studio driver 461.92. I just removed X1 and DDU drivers and then installed 2080 will see how it goes without installing Precision.

So doing DDU and installing Precision X1 haven't helped and it's for sure faulty GPU as again EVGA 1080Ti works flawlessly !

Did the Precision X1 software recommend any firmware update? Also what is the specs of the computer as that can always help.

I have installed X1 and it started this time.
No firmware update possible that I can see anywhere in X1.

Bro, look at the other forum post for solutions to the same problem, ( I previously had the same problem)

    1. Disable your RGB software that interacts with your videocard like armory crate videocard rgb, preciscion, corsair icue etc.
    2. Separate your connected hardware on different electrical sockets
    3. Reset your windows power plan and update your windows 10 and update your motherboard bios.
I'm sure one of these solutions will fix it.

Bro, maybe I should simply use my old 1080Ti instead of 2080Ti ? Those solutions are silly especially if so many people have those problems. over 15 years been using EVGA cards... this one is my last.

It could be corrupted vbios also. Maybe reflashing is the last try, then rma.

I have this same exact problem with my 2080 Super. I have DDU'd the drivers rolled them back to different versions but the random black outs (that crash any programs as well) occur. I can make the blackouts happen straight away when I run the  X1 precision software and have  also tried uninstalling this but problem persists.

The only workaround is to go to device manager, right click on your GPU and select uninstall and tick the box to remove drivers. Reboot and the machine and wait until Windows automatically installs a driver. It is an old driver but it works for about 5 days to a week then you have to do the same thing again.
I have an RMA but after reading your post don't think a replacement card will help so going to try uninstalling Armoury crate and disable RGP control to see if that helps. Will let you know how that works out.
EDIT:- After removing Armoury Crate there have been no further blackouts. I went into bios first and disabled the automatic installation of Armoury Crate and then un-installed AC from the computer and everything is fine now. I think the problem lies with AC RGB control was doing the crashing..

I experienced the same problem and the only thing that fixed it was splitting the electrical load onto 2 different surge protectors.  My rig is plugged into one and everything else is plugged into the other.  That fixed the issue.  The crazy thing is I've had the gpu for 18 months, and these issues just started happening about 45 days ago, which coincides with my download of precision x1.  uninstalling precision, rolling back the gpu, and updating the power plan didn't fix the issue, but the final step of splitting the electrical load across 2 surge protectors fixed it.  Hope this helps.
