Hi there, my card makes this weird noise which is hard to describe. It's sorta liking a winding sound. I can't exactly describe it but I  do this only happens when playing older games in windowed mode.
Fullscreen the noise is gone but always just in windowed mode. Such games include Elder Scrolls Oblivion, Sims 3, etc...

I do not know if others have experienced this but if someone has, then I ask is it normal? Or is there something I can do to stop the noise? It's very annoying but I like playing older games in windowed mode.

Thank you!

Some older games can push framerates to the moon, 300, 400, 500+ frames-per-second like they do for me and may cause the card to make noise (coil whine) as well as run hotter..If that's the case, turn on Vertical Sync in the game settings or the NVIDIA Control Panel.

ahh so that's the source of the noise. Coal whining. ty! I had no accurate way to describe the sound. I will try that suggestion

Yep..But maybe not in Precision X1, some people (including me) are reporting it's still broken/inop.

That may or may not be the source of the noise.

See: What is coil whine, and how does it affect my video card? in the EVGA FAQs.
