It's definitely still a good card! There are some streamers even that have ditched the 30XX series and gone back to 2080Ti to fix stability issues. My only thing I would have suggested is waited a little bit longer to find a Retail (non B-Stock) 2080Ti so you could have hopped in the Step Up line at least. As far as I know, you cannot step up to 30XX from 20XX with a B-Stock card. But either way, I think you're still going to enjoy it more than the 2060 :)

While it is still a fantastic card, you spent the same $699 to get roughly 35-40% less performance than just waiting for a 3080. You also spent $200 more than a RTX 3070 would have cost you that has virtually identical performance as a RTX 2080 Ti. Sorry to say but that was a comparatively terrible decision.

maybe but i dont have the time to waste on nvidias irresponsible  horrific launch and its all how you look at it, i have offers now of 200 for my 2060 ko ultra and if 2080ti works and serves my purpose i can sell both to cover cost of atleast the 3070 if they ever make it to market. so why not enjoy the 2080ti now. and maybe i have different options like my 2 nephews are gaming and looking at building their first rigs and ill have two cards to help them out if i want and then get my 3070 80 or 90 unless i go big navi. or i can keep them both build me a second rig and put one in that. and my nephews are young low paying jobs and wont be able to afford a high end card id be helping them out so to say it was a terrible decision i think was a little over the top. thank you

You are absolutely right if there are 3080 or 3070 available. Shortage is projected until next year.
My critic goes to the scalping price for used, 1/3 warranty, no step up, card.
    OP
Just enjoy the new card and game as much as you can.

You are right about EVGA, I just love their quality, customer support and transparent communications with us - customers.
My current card is 2070, 9th EVGA card in last 15 years.

As long as you're OK with making a rash and poor decision that's OK. It's your money, spend it how you want. Trying to justify it is another matter entirely, you don't have to justify spending your money how you want but you made an objectively bad choice. If that's OK with you then so be it and enjoy your new card.
