been reading these forums, especially the topics related with the 2080 ti black edition, it seems this specific card runs a little bit in the hotter side.

is it due to being the cheaper model, the cooling solution maybe is not as good as the others? would like to know before committing to a purchase.

Chip quality can definitely affect the temp.

thanks for the reply. but this type of issues are not so common to happen for example in a ftw3 for example? I am gathering information as much as possible, this is so expensive either way that I might wait a bit more and buy a "better" card if it means I can squeeze more lifetime out of it. too hot is never good.

Could happen in a ftw3 too, but temps would be masked better due to the ftw3's cooler.

I see.. I have a fractal design r5 case with 3 fans intake (2 thaht came with the case plus one noctua), 1 fan exhaust (noctua).

I do not intend to overclock, I mainly play racing simulation games and would like one day to move to VR. I know the 2080 ti is my best option for this but this type of things trouble me. case is well ventilated and I know EVGA has a very good reputation, they would not sell a product with problems but the price difference to ftw 3 has to mean something. otherwise I would just go for the black model without thinking twice.

You could go with the black and add a Hybrid kit to it to lower the temps.

Use this Associate Code at your checkouts or follow these instructions for Up to 10% OFF on all your EVGA purchases:
