Hi all
I am thinking of getting a 2080 ti XC and waterblocking it and wondered what peoples experience and performance are compared to say a ftw3 hydro copper.  My case is a little too small for FTW or KP so the reference size with block is just right.

    My High 52°C on mine.
You really cannot compare the XC Hydro Copper to the FTW3 Hydro Copper
But the XC ULTRA runs about 4-8°C lower than the XC Card at least this is what I am seeing on my cards.

Well with 2080s theirs 2 things blocking your performance. 1 is heat and 2 is the power limit.

You remove the heat issue with a custom loop but your left with the power limit holding the card back.

The higher model of card you buy the higher the power limit letting you achieve higher sustained overclocks.

If one can afford to buy the top.. dont let a small case hold you back.

i thought the only difference with the XC and Ultra was the size of the heatsink which I will not be using anyway.  are they different power limits also then?

I've had my 2080ti XCultra for almost a month. Runs great at 4k with max settings on all my games to keep 60 FPS. Set it to 135 on the core and 500 on Samsung Mem, with fans set to aggressive. Highest temps have been around 76-78C but usually I stay in the 60's. My hybrid kit comes tomorrow and I am excited to get it installed. Hopefully with the 8-10c drop in temps i'll be able to sustain higher clock settings with the games I play. Right now, my card will boost to mod 2000's but usually I stay in the 1900's or lower as I use optimal in the Nvidia control panel....Hope the install goes smooth. I hope EVGA fixed the short cable going around the block issue that I have read about.....

Black, XC, FTW3 and KingPin all have different power targets with starting from left to right being the lowest.  I have a 2080 Ti black which only has a 112% power limit locked in and it goes up from there on the other SKUs.  That's if you're interested into benchmarking or just want to have high clocks is all up to you.  FTW3 and KP are custom boards and have a beefier VRM and higher Power Limits with Kingpin being the best of the best.

When it comes to XC and XC Ultra, yes it's only a heatsink difference if you're looking to knock a few temps off but the Ultra's take up 3 slots though as does a FTW3 but if you're going to go with a waterblock, you can always change that to 2 slot on the FTW3 and (I THINK) 1 if not just 2 slot on the Kingpin as well but not 100% sure since the 2080 ti Kingpin Waterblock hasn't been released as of yet but soon (May).

Of course at the end of the day, going hybrid or custom cooling will give you cooler temps and possibly quieter operations.

I have the 2080Ti XC Black with an EK Waterblock and custom loop. With the radiator fans at only 50%, I can keep the temps less than 50C easily. If I push the fans to full speed, I can keep it under 40C.

Well I can't compare the the others, but I can offer my experience with the XC.

I got an XC Gaming (11G-P4-2382-KR) and the hydro copper waterblock (400-HC-1389-B1) from evga.
I have a constant boost speed of 2150+ (which never drops below 2100 while gaming) and mem overclock of 500 (haven't tried any higher).
My gpu has never been hotter than 38c, with all fans on 25%, overall great experience.

Sounds to me like you got yourself a pretty good OC'er.  Grats!
