Really wanted to buy a 2080 TI FTW3 Ultra and Hybrid kit, but couldn't justify it with the new price. Saw the 2080 FTW3 Ultra Hybrid for $900 and jumped on that for $780 less.
Upgrading from 970 FTW+ so should be a nice improvement :)

Ordered one too and I hate myself. I was considering getting a used 1080ti but something about buying a used gpu after the mining craze kinda freaks me out. New evga 1080ti's are going for around 1k online, so rather fork over a bit more for the latest and greatest which also comes direct from evga with a warranty.

Scan were awesome and switched me from a Replacement Rog Strix OC to a brand new FTW3 Ultra today. Really glad to be swapping over to EVGA given the surprise about warranty handling with Asus. Lets hope this one fares better than the Asus did, at least if I have issues I can deal with EVGA directly :)

I just noticed this as well. You can buy an XC2 Ultra for the same price with guaranteed higher clock speeds. This is ridiculous and entertaining at the same time.

My card arrived today :-)
In comparison to the Asus... this thing is even bigger than the ROG Strix was, it looks very nice and I think actually goes better in my case. Performance wise it is slightly faster, benching a little higher in Time Spy and Port Royal than the Asus did but max boost clocks are in reality very similar. The FTW3 runs a little hotter and is a little louder than the Asus was. Max temp on the Asus was basically locked to 65C under load. After a similar session I'm seeing ~70C on the FTW3 (OC Bios) and the fans are definitely a bit louder, the Asus was whisper quiet, the FTW3 isn't any louder than any other normal GPU though. So despite the bigger heatsink it seems the Asus had better cooling or just ran cooler. The FTW3 does seem to maintain boost clock much more consistently though (which probably accounts for the slightly better performance). I reckon if I made a custom fan curve and made it a little bit more aggressive temps would come down and I might well get a little bit more boost out of it - but I don't really want to bring on any more noise.
Interestingly this card came with the Samsung GDDR6, guessing that's now standard? I really do wonder if it was the Micron memory that was the issue and it's just quietly being phased out as cards die and get replaced.
Have to say impressed overall, well built and great results. The great thing about this EVGA over the Asus has got to be the warranty, for ~£50 I've now got a 10 year warranty in case anything goes wrong and EVGA provide great support, when my Asus died and I contacted Asus about it they just said "we don't RMA GPUs speak to your retailer". So major bonus to EVGA on that front.
Anyway, if you're on the fence about it this card is super awesome - get it... even if it is also super expensive...

? you said it seem to maintain boost clock much more consistently what is it 2000, 21000, 2200 ; ) which software did you use to overclock it, what was your stable overclock for your core and your memory ? +100 core, +150 core, and the memory +1000 ? just a few details please; ) and I'm glad your card works good for you I get mine tomorrow

I had to lower my core to +115, memory still +1200. I get a max boost of 2130.
