I have a 2080 TI black edition that I used in my water cooled build. I have an EKWB water-block and backing plate. After installing the water-block and backing plate, i started to hear this buzzing sound whenever I was playing a game. I did some searching and I see that this is a normal sound coming from a part of the GPU. I can't remember which part off the top of my head. Anyway, according to the instructions from EKWB, I only ended up putting 3 strips of thermal tape on the back side of the card. From the factory, there were a lot more. I am assuming that this tape also had a lot to do with why I didn't hear any noise for the week or so I used the card before I put the water-block on.
My question is, is there any harm in covering the back of the card with that tape? I don't mean covering as in every inch, just covering the electronic parts that could be making that noise. I don't want to overheat anything but maybe that's not an issue?
