Time again for PG Tour De Primes. This takes place the whole month of February.
SGS and GFN-15 are too small to count for this contest.

Here is the thread from PG. with all the info about the badges and jerseys you can get.

Any one have a recommendation on which projects to run? Prime Grid says PPSE (LLR), and GFN-16 have the best chance of finding a prime. So I figure most people will run these and the chance of being first with a prime find will be low. So, I am considering other options where the competition for first won't be so crowded.

Your i9-9900k should do well running PPSE 2 cores per task no HT
    That's what I will run on mine, and my i7-9700k, i7-8086k, i5-8600k,

PPS-MEGA uses LLR2 and your i9-9900k shuld do well running 4 tasks 2 cores each. If not do 2 tasks with 4 cores and see.
Going to run that on my i7-5960x, 5930k, E5-1650V3 Xeons and E5-1660V3 Xeons

I may do PPSE 2 cores per task on everything and GFN-16, then if I find a prime, swap over to PPS-MEGA and GFN-17 MEGA

I believe PPS-MEGA, GFN-17 MEGA then DIV, SR5 maybe the best chance to find a MEGA prime in that order.

My older 2P server with no AVX2 I will do two 4 core tasks on each processor. See how that goes.

PPS maybe another good option, bigger than PPSE and smaller than MEGA and uses LLR2 as far as I know.
I would test to see how well it does one core per task vs. MT with 2 cores per task.

    Thanks for the tips Bill.

Doing test runs now but I think I am going to concentrate on running PPS-Mega and Genefer 17 Mega. Those two have the best chance of finding a Mega Prime according to Prime Grid. I can run each task for both projects fairly quickly so I feel my chances are decent for finding a prime. Hopefully a Mega prime.

I've got GPUs crunching away until the Folding Event later in the month.
    Haven't found a prime (1st) since 2013

    Thanks!
I was thinking no, you read that wrong. My post said Devlin85 and I were double checkers not the finder.
Then I looked at the PG prime notices and yeah I snagged one!
Checked my email and there was the notice I found a PPSE 9071*2^1620481+1 (487818 digits)

Guess now I'll shoot for a MEGA prime. PPSMEGA, GFN-17MEGA and maybe LLR-DIV or SR5 I think are due.

    Congrats!

I been running PPS Mega and GFN-17 Mega from the start with no luck so far. Thinking of hopping over to SR5 since my big prime find, a long while ago, came from running it.

    Congrats 427jmf!

Today at 4pm Eastern USA time is the start of the "Mountain stage" until tomorrow 4pm Eastern
The person who finds the most primes in that 24 hour period will win the Polk-a-dot Jersey
So I am switching back from large MEGA primes to PPSE. The best chance to find a prime
Also any prime found in that period is a new badge.
