Greedy world we live in in this year of 2020! I know inflation happens for many reasons, but just feels like this year just keeps giving us more stupid. In light of The Year of The Stupid and without getting political, maybe a thread of stupid, we dont normally see, not a LMAO thread, but "What was you thinking!" Got to make some light or fun from grown adults not being all that bright thread!

So what you’re saying is that since there will be no theatrical release, Disney shouldn’t make any money off of it?
At an average of $10 a ticket for a movie release, that is the cost of three people going to the theater, without a theater making a single penny.
That is also the cost of a brand new 4K Blu-Ray.
So, they will be making less money than normal, because people will share their accounts and more people won’t have to pay to see it, and you call this stupid?
I’ll pay to see it because I believe in supporting people that make movies and I typically go see them at the box office. I will still be saving money compared to the cost of going out.

When a family of 4 can sit down and watch the movie, make their own popcorn, have their own drinks, is saving themselves lots of money while the movie theatres are the ones that will suffer.

And less stress of something to happen because people dont know how to act.
T hose who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way. Affiliate Code: 3T15O1S07G

$30 to watch it once? Yeah good luck with that.... I remember the animated version that was made many years ago - tried multiple times to watch it with my daughter, it was so boring we never managed to watch it to the end, even after multiple attempts. If the new movie is anything at all like the old animated version, I wouldn't watch it for $3 let alone $30.

There's nothing that says you can only watch it once, it says you can watch it as many times as you want, as long as you have access to Disney+ and it'll be available to all subscribers 3 months later. Still, getting access to stream a movie 90 days early instead of going to the theater is somewhat new. Here's a link to what I think is a more updated version of the info in the screenshot, showing it's general release on Disney+ and unlimited watches info: https://www.disneyplus.com/movies/mulan/2jlgPK4K0ilR

Ahh ok, I thought it was more like Amazon where you have a ~48 hour window to watch it, and the timer starts from when you first start watching it. Still, I think watching it even once might be too much in this case. :D I have a Disney+ subscription btw, and have been thinking about cancelling it - it was good for a few months, but it's a relatively limited library.

We was already paying , but now they offer a premium package with no real benefit. It’s just greed. I can see Disney charging more just to watch Mandalorian, if that happens Disney can go wet them selves somewhere else

It does seem silly to have extra packages pop up when you are all ready paying for the premium for Disney+ but this is not much different than things like Hulu selling additional packages to get the local channels. I just don't buy it and hope they'll eventually bring it down to the paid platform that i'm willing to keep if it's a reasonable price. I pay for too many streaming services to upgrade any of them past the no-ads version.

I would normally agree, but they were intending to release the movie to theaters..and didn't get the opportunity.

My wife and I have Disney+ and share it with our roommate. We have never paid for it because we got a year for free with our Verizon subscription.. so... a package I have to pay for on top of a package that is free isn’t all that costly comparatively.

I don't understand what the griping is about. Go see it in theaters if you don't want to pay $30 to stream it early. Mulan is still planned to release to theaters though I'm not sure on the date, but is far from the only movie dual-releasing to streaming and theaters right now. Also worth considering that I'm sure there are many towns and cities that don't yet even have an open theater right now. At least they have an alternative option even if it's expensive.
Have water, will cool.

Yeah but, it would cost me around 10 dollars for admission. I just don't get how they landed on that price. I would think they saved money from not having to generate all the things that come along with getting the physical copy to every theater. the_Scarlet_one

Yeah, I get Hulu through Sprint and I can update it to the no-ads version and then add Disney+ to it to get a discount... but you are usually still paying for it somehow... mine just gets paid through Sprint at what looks like is a discount... but it's just included into my phone bill anyway. I still think 29.99 a month is pretty steep for any streaming service. You could get 2 premium streaming services for that price.

I don’t find it that bad since it’s Disney Plus for one month plus the cost of two people going to the theater. For a family of three it’s not bad really. That said I wouldn’t do it for just me alone.

Yep, the encode rates are trash for streaming. Comparing the physical media versions of movies vs what a streaming encode does to it is a mess. Then again, consumers are so dumb now they've been conditioned not to be angry unless someone tells them what to be angry about.

2008 was money worse for me, but 2020 has been by far adults with super bad attitudes, some of this bleep Ive seen this years from adults, given I (wife and I) moved back to Arkansas, even the wife was like what the bleep, after moving down here. My original post one, was more of the adults and corporations just being greedy'er than the normal, its like learned behaviors run-a-muk in a very bad way. Dont know if yall remember yalls American history, just how close we are to having a 2nd Great Depression, because of such stupidness (if thats a real word,lol)....

We’ve become desensitized to the large amount of stupidity here. People just become one with the stupid. Our state motto should be “Somethin jus ain’t right” Lots of people fighting over not wearing face masks. The avid Facebook parent going on unrelated, incorrect political tangents when they do something wrong and get confronted. The big issue here are summer teeth. They have some over here and some over there, but never all of them. -FLman
But in all seriousness, we just opened bars & other place to full capacity a few days ago. I guess we’ll have to continue on this bumpy road for a while longer.
