It's that time again...the annual BOINC Pentathlon is drawing near!
There are some rule changes this year.  Read about them here.
 
You do not need to do anything to register for the Pentathlon. Our team is signed up!

The 5th and final project of the BOINC Pentathlon in the discipline Sprint is:
LHC@home (https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/)
All credits granted between 16 May 2019, 0.00 (UTC) and 19 May 2019, 0.00 (UTC) will be taken into the BOINC Pentathlon validation. Please note that pending credits cannot be taken into account!
 
The 4th project of the BOINC Pentathlon in the discipline Cross Country is:
Einstein@Home (http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/)
All credits granted between 11 May 2019, 0.00 (UTC) and 16 May 2019, 0.00 (UTC) will be taken into the BOINC Pentathlon validation. Please note that pending credits cannot be taken into account!

Javelin Throw consists of five days in total, but only the third best day of each team is considered for the rankings.

  • The second day of Javelin Throw starts at 09 May 2019, 0.00 (UTC) and ends at 10 May 2019, 0.00 (UTC). Please note that pending credits cannot be taken into account!
  • The third day of Javelin Throw starts at 13 May 2019, 0.00 (UTC) and ends at 14 May 2019, 0.00 (UTC). Please note that pending credits cannot be taken into account!

    Well, I hope we get lucky on the GPU side since there are a few GPU projects that seem to not to support my RTX 2080. So far I can not run GPUGrid or Enigma for what ever reason. Actually Enigma just refuses to send me any task at all. Yes I have checked all my settings on the Enigma website and I can not find anything wrong at all.

    Same here, so far it's the only project revealed. We'll strategize when more is known.

    If the Javelin throw only counts the 3rd best score....does it make any sense at all to run it more than 3 times? (edit: out of the five ((possibly non-consecutive)) days it will run)

    From a private communication:
     
    OGR tasks are longest (up to 16 hours so far), but are not due until JUNE.
    ECM is at 9 hours, due date is May 8th.
    Siever is at 6 hours, and due just about when the race starts...me no likey

    Update: YoYo ECM has ENORMOUS memory requirements, over 3GB of RAM per task, and my page file is nearly 60GB, and that is with only 6 tasks running!  (Windows 10, AMD ThreadRipper)
    EDIT: Running fairly normal on Haswell (Windows 10), 0.8GB of RAM, page file isn't huge. Hmmmm.

    EDIT: Times are for Haswell at 3.4GHz (3.3?)
     
    If I HAVE to run yoyo, I will only run OGR.
