I'm sure I'm missing something simple, but I'm using 6.2.7 and just updated to Win 10 1803. I can't get the OSD to work while gaming. I'm sure this has more to do with 1803 settings, but playing COD WWII, I can't seem to get the OSD to work. Any help will be appreciated.

Uninstall Precision XOC and restart your PC..Then delete the Precision XOC and LED Sync folders located in the Program Files (x86)\EVGA folder..Then install Precision XOC again and set it up from scratch..Roll from there.

Or better yet, do what i do. use Precision for everything except OSD. Use afterburner and rivatuner. Make sure AB only is set on default and use only the OSD. Works perfectly and u don't have to be miserable trying to get EVGA's OSD to function because it is very hit or miss with gaming functionality

Thanks... I just went back to 6.2.3 and everything works fine. I'll just stay here for a while.

That version seems to be the least buggy of the versions in recent history..The version I use too.

If need be sometimes, you can run MSI AB with the included RivaTuner Statistics Server for on-screen display and then run Precision at the same time for controlling your video card as stated in Post #3 above..Done that before too.

Something happen to EVGA Precision XOC when Microsoft release update Win 10 1803.
I'm using version 6.2.7.  Sometimes it works. Sometimes it don't.
I've found that if OSD does not work.  I use Task manager and shut down Microsoft Edge(you will see a Green Leaf Icon when MS Edge is not an active window) then OSD will work.  I don't even need to restart Precison XOC to get the OSD to work.

    @90steve09,
Nice catch on this. I tried this "fix" and it does seem to work with 6.2.3 also. When I first uninstalled 6.2.7 and went back I thought everything was ok, but it wasn't. 6.2.3 exhibited the same hit or miss when the OSD would work. I googled what the green leaf means and found this... "It is a new feature that suspends the app until you launch it. It will disappear when you launch the program". Once Edge is run one time, the green leaf doesn't show up again until rebooting. I also noticed Edge does not shut down (in task manager) immediately when closed. Possibly starting a game before it fully closes might also effect whether the OSD works. I'll go back and reinstall 6.2.7 and see what happens. But you may be right and the culprit is Edge. There may be other conflicts but for the time being this "seems" to eliminate the problem.

Well I was little quick with that other post. The problem still exists with v1803 and any EVGA version I've tried. I stopped Edge with the green leaf in task manager. I've closed Edge by open and then closing it and it's still a hit or miss situation whether the OSD will come on during a game. It may work 3 or 4 times in a row (why I thought it was fixed) and then it won't come on again.
Still looking for a solution to this one.

    Re: 1803 and OSD 2018/05/29 11:49:17 (permalink)
Updated current install from 1709 where the OSD worked 100% of the time I asked it to be running. There is obviously something going on between the 1803 update and Precision XOC. That the OSD sometimes will work with both 6.2.3 and 6.2.7 would indicate the problem is with 1803 and not the EVGA software. It looked like shutting down Edge was the problem but it wasn't, at least for me. Something else is running or not running in the background to be causing this. Or who knows, it could be anything. It might be as simple as changing one of the new settings in 1803???
One thing I did notice is that I had the HWM open on the desktop (but not visible during the game) is when the game was shutdown, FPS was still showing 0 when the OSD didn't appear but when it was working, the FPS in the HWM was showing correctly at 165 FPS while the game was running.

I agree Win 10 1803 seems to be the root cause.

DDU the Nvidia drivers and reinstall them after you download them yourself - Microsoft version is Not the same and abbreviated driver may have been installed.  Then remove and reinstall XOC, follow steps previously listed.

If that does not work, you may want to try a clean reinstall of the OS - Or - wait for some sort of MS / Nvidia patch or new driver version to resolve the issue

Thanks, I download and install the Nvidia drivers myself from their website when they become available. I've removed and reinstalled XOC using Revo uninstall. No help. I have no intention of doing a clean reinstall of the OS. Now that someone is aware there is a problem, it may be looked into. In the meantime, I really don't need the OSD but it is nice to have running just for something to keep an eye on. As long as the fan control is keeping the GPU (GTX1080) cool, which it has been, then waiting for a fix is no problem for me... Thanks again.

Again, I don't want to sound too optimistic with this, but maybe the OSD problem IS related to Edge. If when just starting up, I deleted Edge (with the green leaf) in task manager, the OSD worked every time. Then I just tried by closing a running Edge screen with the X. OSD didn't work. The next try was leaving Edge open, going into task manager and ending it there. I tried this about 4 times and every time again, the OSD worked. Maybe there's a background process in Edge that is interfering with the OSD unless it is fully shutdown in task manager???? Waiting for others to duplicate this... we'll see what happens....

I also can confirm, turning off Edge allowed my OSD to work in win 10. Would not work until i killed it in task manager

    Re: 1803 and OSD 2018/06/02 13:28:25 (permalink)
I checked as thorough as I could and I don't see Edge anywhere in startup services. With 1803, after startup, it does appear in task manager with a green leaf which means it's suspended until opened. By ending that task the OSD will work. After Edge is opened and closed normally, the OSD does NOT work. If you close Edge through task manager the OSD will work. So whether Edge is loading at start is really not the point. If you use Edge and don't shut it down in task manager, the OSD won't work. At least this is the case with me, 90steve09 and coolhand5150 who also confirm this same problem and work around to fix it.
You may get other confirmations but it depends on whether others having this problem are using this forum, read this thread and respond.

I guess I'm going to keep on posting... I usually let my computer run 24/7. When I couldn't get the OSD to work today, I finally decided to reboot. Immediately after restarting, I closed Edge (green leaf) in task manager and tried a game. The OSD worked. I'm really confused now but still pretty sure Edge had something to do with this.

My last post on this for a while. I removed PrecisionX and installed Afterburner. Everything works. No glitches with this or some other minor problems I was having with Precision. I may check back but right now I see no problems using Afterburner. Too bad, I've been a user since 2006 but too many problems lately.

Want to chime in here.  I'm a computer engineer and gave up after trying just about everything to get Precision OC to work.   The OSD will not turn on for anything.

    uninstalled:
    nvidia drivers
precision oc - delete reg keys and program files folder
    rebooted
    re-install drivers
    rebooted
    reinstalled latest precision oc
    rebooted
reset everything to defaults, still doesnt work.

I'm about to give up here.

    Update for this problem.
I've been using MSI Afterburner for a month now and it has been running and performing perfectly. I have an EVGA GTX1080 and Afterburner works fine with it. At this time I see no reason to even try Precision X again. Afterburner is everything I was hoping Precision X would be and more. EVGA makes a great video card but their software leaves a lot to be desired. This may sound like an advertisement, but it isn't. It's just an observation from someone who is tired of fighting to get Precision X to work.
