Got a B-stock 1660 Ti SC Ultra GAMING (06G-P4-1667-RX) last week. I'm seeing core load temps of 86C with all stock settings, no overclocking or profiles or anything. This is in a temp-controlled rack where other EVGA 1660 Ti's have been 70-75C. Haven't pulled it apart to check thermal paste, not sure if EVGA voids warranty in that case. Basic google searching shows nvidia rates the 1660 Ti for 95C max temp but target should be 82-ish. Reviews (Gamers Nexus) show temps well under 70C on 3DMark and Torture Load tests. If I wanted to RMA this, would EVGA even accept it? I would of course provide screenshots and testing.

I have the same card and see nowhere near those temps.  Corsair iCue 220T RGB case, 360MM AIO on the intake and 3 120mm fans on the exhaust.  5600X and I never go past 60.  What case are you using and what fan config?  You may have an airflow issue.

Server chassis on a rack. My other cards, same model, don't run this hot. As I mentioned they run between 70-75 so higher than GN's review but still pretty cool. I have no problem checking the thermal paste but not sure if it voids the 1-year B-stock warranty. Might just open a ticket and see what EVGA says.

How many RU? Could very well be an airflow issue

Nope, it doesn't void the warranty, as long as you don't screw up and damage the card in the process.

Good to know, thanks ty. It's a 32U rack, perforated front and back, 5x 80mm fans for intake directly in front of the GPUs. Exhaust is out the top, another 4x 92mm fans. It has the same airflow as the other GPUs, nothing immediately in the racks above and below it, I'd say a good 6 inches away.

I saw a 5 degree Celsius drop in temperature by replacing the thermal paste and pads on my refurbished 1650 Super. My thermal paste I used is Arctic MX-4 and the pads were cut from a $7 1mm thick sheet(100x100mm).

I run a 1660 ti sc ultra as well, it has never gotten to 80C or past before, Have you checked the fans? or checked in msi afterburner or precision x1 to see if they were running well

I remember on some reviews that this card runs hot, and the better solution is to change the thermal paste, you can try that.

Good luck on an RMA at this point. I mean, for sure EVGA would honor it but the wait in this climate must be pretttttttttttttttttyyyyyyy looooooooooooooooooooooooong.

That said I do see high temps on my 1660ti actually. Not the processing as much as the RAM and VRM. I quick look under the hood shows that there isn't any contact on the VRMs or the RAM... correct me if I'm wrong.

I've built out systems with several 2060 Supers and 1660 Supers over the years, and the 1660 Supers always ran hot.  That doesn't particularly help, but to say that 1660 heat is not unexpected.

Good to know I'm not alone. My card would run at around 65 normally when I first got in January. Now I'm seeing temps consistently at 75, with heavier games like COD pushing it over 80. My case doesn't help, but at least I know I can hold off on switching to a custom made mesh front for now...

I have similar temps on my 1660 ti SC ultra, under full load. A repaste would probably help, but I'm too lazy.
