I know how you feel. 1660 is still a decent card if it is all you can get your hands on, but it isn't good value for money.

It's a decent lower/ mid level card  w/ NO raytracing ability...but it's better than using nothing.

It's a decent card for 1080p medium settings

I have a 1660s. It's good enough for most games at 1080p from med - ultra settings depending on the game and if going under 60 fps in single player campaign games doesn't bother you(ie The Witcher 3,max settings 50ish fps)

Thanks for the responses.  I guess I'm just finding it tough to justify spending money on something like that if it's just a stopgap.  Hopefully I can snag something else in the next couple weeks before all the other parts for my newest build arrive and I won't have to settle.

Just stay strong and hold out until you can buy the card you want. I considered getting a 1660s many times the past few months, but the ones I see in stock are currently 2x the price what they were 1 year ago, and I'd be kicking myself if prices of 3060/3060ti/3070 start dropping soon.

Well I hope we can both get what we really want.  I hope the prices come down with the crypto crackdown in China now.

I would tell u to wait but that’s what I was told when the supply chain got messed up (at first) and now it’s gotten even worse. if u r really desperate for a gpu i would camp Best Buy and/or stay on waitlist for a better gpu on evga. Otherwise just wait it out and hopefully things may get better. Do NOT overpay to scalpers. 1650 super is better value for money it has basically the same performance as a reg 1660. hope I helped (I would rather get an Rtx card at this point u won’t regret it )

I believe it depends on your current situation.
 
A. If you dont have a card at all and you cant game on your PC or your using integrated i think if you could find a 1660 at MSRP it would be worth using even for a few months. Cost wise it wont be hard to get rid of 2nd hand or just hold onto for a test/backup card.  Playing games hands down beats not playing games no matter what graphics settings your at.
 
B. If you already have something from an older generation say 700 series to 900 series. Id just ride it out and lower the graphics settings. Sure the game doesnt look amazing but depending on the game if youre immersed in gameplay graphics come 2nd to gameplay and i dont think youll notice and have a good amount of fun.

Tough. I'd love to find one to replace my ancient 970. Honestly would love any modern card right now.

I just purchase an i5 11600k with UHD750 to get me by till i can get a gpu at or close to MRSP

Amazon has them for $440 all the time.

I have had 1660, 1660S and 1660TI...depends on what resolution you want to play at, but heck even a 1650S can be great with a good CPU and 1080p Low settings in Fortnite.
