I haven't needed a special bracket for any intel mount from 4th gen through 11th gen.  will 12th gen be some odd size for a change?

First and foremost, INTEL has not officially launched 12th Gen.

Second, EVGA typically does not discuss anything that is under NDA.

Lastly, I would assume an official answer will be available once the NDA is lifted, but looking at history, the odds seems to be decent that a bracket will be made available.

RB, yes, 12th Gen will have a different socket layout from what has been leaked so far.

right... new socket layout, but..... the cooler patterns haven't changed with LGA1150, LGA1151, LGA1155, LGA1156 and LGA1200.  I have been using an old stock intel cooler on my testing bench for about a decade, across all sockets.  Maybe its not ideal in some way I haven't noticed.

We will have LGA Socket 1700 mounting kits available for sale on the website.  I'm using "kits" loosely, because it's just going to be the brackets needed, probably.

No ETA right now, however, since we will receive these through Asetek.  Down the road, these will be included with CLC products by default, but also no ETA for this.

The only thing i would ask is that you email any customer that has purchased one of these from your store, seeing how we are due to (hopefully) receive the new CPUs end of next week we are gona be a bit stuffed without it.

An update or notification for when the new adapter kit is available would be appreciated since we still need to order and wait for delivery when abunch are expecting the new CPU/Mobo next weekend.

Just ordered 12th gen CPU, need an adapter kit or will have to switch to a new AIO.  Hello?  EVGA?

EDIT:  Just found that ASUS ROG boards feature dual holes so AIOs do not require adapters....

evga cust service told me today to check back when lga 1700 is released, guess they don't even have a clue what is going on since its released today.  I am more worried about height, and corsair recommended the screw kit, since that is all that is changing with theirs.

Was reading the review of the 12gen at Tom's Hardware, they said existing coolers wouldn't work in the Z-direction as the new chip setup is not as tall.  Is that what Corsair may be compensating for with the new screws?

New technology, always fun when trying to jump in first.

yeah corsair basically said that the coolers wont sit right with the current kits and need the new screws to properly cool the new cpu

Just ordered 12th gen CPU, need an adapter kit or will have to switch to a new AIO.  Hello?  EVGA?

Is the 12th Gen processor Z-height guaranteed to be the same as for the 11th Gen processors? Haven't seen that confirmed just yet.

This was the quote from TH:

"Because the new LGA1700 socket is physically larger and has a lower Z-height, existing air and water coolers for LGA1200 and LGA115x motherboards won't work with 600-series motherboards. As a result, upgraders will need to acquire a conversion kit from the cooler-maker or buy a new cooler."

Hopefully we'll get some bit of info from EVGA soon.  Otherwise I guess I'm going back to a Kraken.

Noctua released their 1700 adapter kit back when preorders started of new screw/spacers, corsair 1700 kit is just 4 new spacer screws, basically confirms what i've heard about a different height with new cpu, the responses i've gotten from evga customer service itself just has me worried enough to just test the $3 screw kit.

Re: 12th gen clc brackets 2021/11/04 12:10:33 (permalink)
It appears Corsair is offering two different solutions.  One is just the offset screws and the other has all new brackets to fit the hole layout for LGA 1700 which may be different. Mentioned earlier that ASUS appears to offer dual holes in each corner to use different mounting bracket solutions, although the Z-offset will still be a problem apparently.

Yea and it looks like the retention kit is out of stock and will arrive within 2 weeks of order so who knows when you'll be able to get that.

The silence is deafening from EVGA on Alder Lake. Other than a blurb for a Dark mobo (release date?), communication on their coolers has been dark, pun intended. I love EVGA products, but having products ready at launch is an expectation that they are falling way short on.

Yes this is quite frustrating as it's not like EVGA is a small company.  Every major cooler provider has had some form of public statement regarding kits being available or when they will be available.  It's very sad to see EVGA make not even an effort to provide information.  I wouldn't be surprised if EVGA is not providing information because a bracket won't be available for quite some time.  Pretty sad.

I ended up ordering a thermaltake lga 1700 kit for my CLC 280 since they are both ASETEK coolers and if history repeats itself, use the same retention brackets/standoffs.

Agreed, and the Z590 motherboard products were much the same, so it's not like Alder Lake product (non)support is a first. I waited for quite a while for their Z590 FTW motherboard release, and finally bought an ASRock Taichi, which has worked out extremely well for me.

I am going to attempt this also.  I am going in for one of the LGA1700 upgrade kit/aio/for TH series Floe RC Series.

The standoffs in that kit are very different from what I expected to see compared to the EVGA offsets.  Guess I need to read the instructions!

Thank you Jacob. Will they be free of charge? Also, will they be available for EU customers next week as well? I´m using a CLC 280 currently and all I lack for my new build is the LGA 1700 kit from EVGA.
