I am looking to buy a PSU for a new build. I am specifically interested in a 1200w PSU. I see EVGA has 2 1200w 80+ platinums, the EVGA SuperNOVA 1200 P2 and EVGA SuperNOVA 1200 P3. Is one better than another? I am also considering a Corsair HX1200. Any advice anyone can provide? I simply want something that is reliable and proven. Other recommendations are appreciated as well. The system I am 98% sure I will be building, is an Intel 12900K system using my RTX 3090 from EVGA, possibly a secondary graphics card, lots of fans, NVME, HD's, etc. Thanks

I had the 1200P3, but it caused problems with my system. Returning it and went with the 1200HX. No problems with that one.

Not all EVGA power supplies are made from the same manufacture, they use different OEM's per line-up. The P2 line-up uses SuperFlower, while the P3 line-up uses HEC. No idea if one is better than the other.

So the P3 is newer and made by a different vendor (not SuperFlower). Perhaps the P2 model would be more reliable? I like the idea of a slightly shorter PS. I imagine you can get custom cables for any of these at cablemod. I appreciate the thoughts. Lately have been going Corsair but there selection is meh....just want something that can handle my 3090 and 12900K with plenty of room to spare.

Lol, wheres jonny when we could really use him to torture these things and their layouts. I know GN got some of his stuff and are supposed to take up the mantle, but they sure are taking their time.

7 or 8 P2 models have all been good for me and the corsair 1200 has been good 2 of them. I never used a P3 so I do not know.

I would recommend the 1000 T2 over any of those... plenty of headroom for a set-up like that. wmmills

Yeah, I really miss the reviews. I also look forward to GN making good reviews on this stuff. I'm sure if they find anything faulty, they will be sure to make everyone know lol
