Okay I love the look of the card but the jarring white logs do not match my build, I am 3d printing a rgb illuminated cover for the top and side out of ABS, for the top I can do a press fit to the Knurling on the G1/4 no issues but for the side I am thinking of tiny magnets to hold it in place. Do you know of any issues attaching very small magnets to the blocking mounting screws could/would cause? I am thinking I should be fine.

    Can you post a Photo?
I would use a Dab of Clear Silicone II before Magnets.

I'm with Bcav. I would be leery of magnets, with the electric currents running through everything. 3M makes a great double sided tape some modders use. You should show off your handy work in a mods rig post.

About the mixing metals I am talking about forming magnets into the 3d printing item to attach to the screws that are already in the GPU?

    OK,
I Photo would help, I was looking at my HC Block on how you might do this as well.

Okay here is my rough design spend nearly 30 minutes on it
the HAL 9900X is a full cut out the gray squares are 5mmx5mmx2mm Magnets and it should fit around the raised bump in the video card shroud I'll print a few proto-types and fix any issues. each magnet should align with one of the pre-existing screws which are magnetic I checked.
The channel down the center will hold dual RGB 50/50 Strips, I might put in a defuser need to print a few and test

I think my idea would work perfect for that.

Any of the ideas mentioned would work fine. Magnets would leave behind the least amount of sticky residue after removal (none). Use whichever method you desire. Magnets will not damage the video card.

I am going to do both but like I said in my first post I can make the top one fit tight to the knurled g1/4 so that isn't an issue its the side plate I can't attach
