Hey

I'm seeing artifacts on Far Cry 5 and Sea of Thieves (red blobs) and games ultimately CTD due to video driver.  Tried a clean install of 391.35 and 388.59 but no improvement.  Card is not overclocked beyond the factory.  Artifacts disappear if I change the core offset to -200.

Any suggestions or this is a straight up RMA?

Thanks!

You're getting artifacts only in these two games?

Also, when you did the clean install, did you use DDU to remove the Drivers?

I'm using 391.01 and had been working very nicely in my 1080Ti.

Well, those two are the only ones I'm playing right now.

No, didn't use DDU - used Nvidia's clean install option.

But, given the artifacts clear if the clock offset is reduced (it's literally like flicking a switch) down tells me it's not a driver issue.  Temps are well within limits too.

If you can, download some benchmark and see if the artifacts still will be shown there as well (Like Heaven benchmark for example, or 3DMark).
Also, try following #2 in this guide to remove the drivers using DDU (maybe using an older nvidia driver might help as well).

If the artifacts perform, most probably it's an issue on the memory of the GPU, and RMA would be the only way =/.

Out of curiosity, how much does your card is O.C. only using the GPU Boost 3.0?

If your memory clock is at default or lower when you set your core to -200, I'd say most likely you'll need to RMA your GPU.

Thanks both.  Couldn't even complete a run of Heaven without CTD until I set core to -200.

Card is only 4 months old - I've opened a ticket and will go for an advance RMA.

Hi guys! My first post starts here! ;)
I bought the EVGA GeForce 10880ti FTW3 and this beast eats any game you throw at it!
    Love the card so far
Also recently bought the CLC 280 Works fine but the problem there is the LED sync
And Idea should work that if the guys at EVGA can make the LED sync as a separate software so it wont make conflict with both EVGA Precission and EVGA Flow Control
because the Cooler is having a conflict with the "Device not found"
That could solve the problem for a lot of folks out there and mine as well!
    Have a nice day!

Hi and welcome to the forums...

I believe EVGA is working on that.  You would find more info about it in this section > https://forums.evga.com/EVGA-Software-f22.aspx

As far as I know, every card that needs to be downclocked in order to work as expected should be RMA at once.

Ok, so EVGA decided without any grumbling that it was borked and should be RMA'd.  In fact, the card got worse - crashing more frequently, even Minecraft(!?!) bombed.  Machine is powered off and unused now.

The bad news is EVGA have no stock.  I was told by CS they were expecting a shipment on Monday, and I would be priority for one of them, but it doesn't seem to have happened.  So, I am without a PC until well... I don't know...

Just realised typing that update in, how bloody annoying this is.  A top-tier (and top $) card, 4 months old.  Things break, I get that, but what?  I'm just expected to sit here waiting until all the miners stop buying cards to get what I paid for?

    Not good enough EVGA.

Did you call them back on the phone and ask for a firm date? If you have the advance RMA option available, they should go to whatever lengths to get you a card pronto. If not, then you deserve compensation for your time and trouble, for them not being able to follow through on their promises.

I tried, but they won't give me a date.  The guy I spoke to was nice enough, but he made it clear there is zero stock and was cagey about when there would be stock.  I've just sent a complaint off to them about it.  Who knows, maybe they'll send me a kingpin - well, the RMA does say comparable or better

Hopefully EVGA will get some stock soon so they can get a replacement out to you.  The past few months have been ridiculous for people needing replacements or even just wanting to purchase a new card at a reasonable price.

i actually had artifactacting in FC5 too as well.. and i was reading online that a lot of other people did too. so i didn't think my card was dying. i also had crashes in COD:WW3 and bioshock infinite, but it seems to work fine in most other games.

Any advancements in getting a new card? I had to RMA my 1080ti KINGPIN card due to it not getting 2025 MHz and had to wait a month before I finally got one back from EVGA (it was brand new tbh) With the new one I had it installed for a week and that one burnt up for some reason. But I got another one very quickly replaced after that. I'm on my third KINGPIN and now I am experiencing quite high temperatures without any overclock applied, and I don't want to RMA another one yet- why still no waterblock in stock for this.

From my experience EVGA are great with their customer support, however, the time taken for RMA varies quite a bit. When my first KINGPIN took a month I was able to be in contact with EVGA nearly all of the time giving updates. My card got stuck in customs, unfortunately.

Hopefully, you too can get your new card back, or even that KINGPIN upgrade :D
