1080p120 over HDMI

I have a Vizio M70 and EVGA 960 FTW 2GB. Both have HDMI 2.0 and they are connected with a high speed 18gps cable. I cannot get 1080p at 120hz even though the TV and card are supposed to support it. The best I've been able to do is create a custom resolution using 120hz but it only is in RGB and looks murky. I can run 4K at 60hz with 4:2:0 color.  Is 120hz more cable length sensitive? Can the GTX 960 HDMI output be set to 11?

    Most TV don't actually support 1080p at 120Hz despite supporting 4k 60Hz 4:4:4.

    Most TVs will say they are 120Hz, but they are not true 120Hz monitors.  Their "120Hz" is taking your 60Hz signal and inserting a fake image it made between every real image; you can read more here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_interpolation
     
    They will say they are 120Hz or 240Hz, but in reality, they only accept 60Hz from the source and interpolate fake images between the real ones.

    The Vizio M70 is supposed to support 120hz on the high speed hdmi input. I got it half working with the custom profile. The system page on the TV says 1080p at 120hz and if I turn on v-synch the steam overlay fps counter is 120 most of the time. But the RGB color looks bad compare to ycbcr 4:4:4 from 1080p60.

    I think there is a typo and they meant, "although 'ONLY' for the 60" model and up".

    The RTINGS site was where I got the 1080p at 120hz. Funny thing is I can select 1080p at 60 4:4:4 and 4K at 30 4:4:4 which they say don't work. Maybe something changed in firmware since the review. I ordered a new cable that is 3' shorter to see if that is the issue.
