I've typically used Afterburner to overclock my cards, but wanted to try Precision XOC to see if it would be able to overclock my card without causing stuttering on the HTC Vive. I removed Afterburner, installed Precision XOC and everything was working beautifully.

I just uninstalled Precision XOC, as I wanted to do some tests without any overclocking software installed. I uninstalled, rebooted and ran 3DMark. To my shock, my 3DMark score hadn't changed and the core speed for my 1080Ti was showing as my overclocked speed (2050Mhz).

Now I'm trying to figure out why this is happening. Has anyone run in to this before? I installed Precision XOC via Steam, should that matter at all. Are there any other settings I should be removing manually?

3dmark may be recording incorrect clock speeds. Reinstall your drivers then retest the system.

If it was simply misreporting the speed, the graphics score from the benchmark would have been lower.  The benchmark was the same with the overclock and much faster as what my score was with the card right out of the box (without overclock).

I'm actually going to keep it like this for now.  I'll see what happens the next time I update my video card drivers.
