Hard decision for me... I really want a K|NGP|N because i love overclocking and pushing it to the limit, but i don't know how long it will take before a watercooled K|NGP|N will be released.
It will even be released later because i am a EU citizen, and the Hydro Copper is not available yet in the EU.

+ Hydro Copper
- I get the card probably faster than the K|NGP|N one
- It has a waterblock on it

- Hydro Copper
- It is a FTW3 PCB which has no unlocked bios and the voltage will be a limitation
- I don't really like the design

+ K|NGP|N
- It has an unlocked BIOS
- It can overclock further with a guaranteed 2025 (my FTW3 did 2076 till 60c and dropped to 2050 without any instability)

- K|NGP|N
- Takes ages to release, even slower in EU
- I don't have the equipment for the extra features of the PCB

I want to buy a card which i can overclock the best, and that i have to pay like 100 or 200 more i don't mind.
I had two FTW3's which i liked though they were faulty and had to RMA them, chose for a refund and now i am waiting for the Hydro Copper and K|NGP|N to be released.
My case is an NZXT H440 Hyper Beast and i am planning to do a 2x 360 custom loop with CPU/GPU  or 1x 360/1x 280 custom loop with CPU/GPU, so there will be enough cooling to keep everything cool.

Can you guys give me an advice?

Hydro Copper if you have a loop to add it too and are a stickler for low temperatures. The low temps will also mitigate the risk of issues and will increase the lifespan.

K|NGP|N if you do competition overclocking or LN2 cooling. K|NGP|N will have a higher guaranteed overclock but there are no guarantees you can go beyond that point (but that overclock is incredible regardless!).

In the end, both are beasts and you should not be disappointed!

If you have a moment, please rate my service. We appreciate the feedback!

I see an sc2 hydro copper available for EU citizens right now, will a FTW3 hydro copper become available soon too?

I don't know if i need to wait till i do a complete upgrade or not (currently at a z97 gaming 7 mobo with an i7 4770k)

If i can better wait, i wait for the K|NGP|N, else i just go for the FTW3 Hydro Copper when it becomes available.

If I were to choose between only these two models,
I would like a Kingpin (not that I would use all the features it comes with), because I'm more into Air Cooled cards / Hybrid cards (I think it's beatiful).
Also, I don't have a custom loop system, so there's no way for me to upgrade to a Hydro Copper and invest in a custom loop.

Case: Asus Z370-G Box / MB: Asus Z370-G / CPU: Intel I7 8700K / Mem.: 16GB (2x8) 3000Mhz Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 / GPU: GTX 1080TI FTW3 / A.I.O. W.C: EVGA CLC280 / PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA G3 750W

K|ngp|n is a benching card. Built and intended for benching. If you don't intend to user the features, don't waste the money. Think to yourself, "do I need a vram heater on my video card?" If the answer is no, save your money and dont buy the K|ngp|n version.

The mainreason for me to buy the K|NGP|N is because of the overclocking abilities. Probs just going for the watercooled FTW3 if the price is way too high, i see the SC2 Hydro Copper is at 929 already.

Kingpin with a waterblock on it would be best as you can disable all the protections on the card.

Yeah thats why i can't choose, but the K|NGP|N will take weeks to be released while volta is already been released.

The k|ngp|n will not be special on air honestly. It is guaranteed 2025. That is not that great, so I highly recommend the any of the regular versions, or sc2/ftw3 versions. They all typically overclock nearly the same, and there is even articles about the fact that all 1080ti's perform about the same. There will be some that barely overclock, and others that overclock extremely well.

One thing to keep in mind, the 980 and 980ti KPE had all the protections removed... and didn't perform any different, even with guaranteed ASIC scores. Under water, the cards were stable, but didnt perform any better than before. Especially when adding another $130 or so on top of air cooled prices. I love watching people use the KPE how it was intended, but if this air cooled and watercooled version goes South like the others did and the complaints start rolling in like they always do, I won't be able to feel bad for those that fall for the hype.

At that price you're not far away from doing a SLI setup.  Why not do 2x 1080 Ti SC Black's?

Or a 1080 Ti FE+Kraken G12+140mm AIO (I'd recommend a Hybrid kit but they're still out of stock).

Or a Titan xP.  ...Eh nevermind the Titan xP is overpriced for gaming.

I ignore me, I didn't read the custom loop part.

Will be a great card with Ln2, now if he would just sell it with the closed loop ln2 system he has so everyone can utilize these cards properly.

I would also take 20c with a grain of sand, since there is zero fluctuation in between scenes. May have been a software reading error.

The kingpin is the card for you as the ftw3 on water can only go so far as it's locked down. Kingpin on water should do better than a ftw3 on water as long as you keep it nice and cool.

Currently, that question can not be answered. We are all waiting to see how many limbs will be required to get a hand on these cards. I wouldn't be surprised of it was a significant hit to the wallet.
