So I'm looking to get the 1080TI FTW3, but I'm also really considering setting up an open-loop water cooling rig too.
I'm a little torn between what I should get and what I want to get...

For example, the 1080TI FTW3 comes with the ICX cooler (which will be removed) and a second BIOS chip, and extra power, but is any of that needed if I'm stripping off the ICX cooler in a few months? Would I be better off getting the founders edition 1080 TI, and removing the cooler from that to fit a 1080TI Water block?

Has anyone else got an open-loop water cooling setup?

if you're looking to water cool a GTX 1080Ti I would personally just get a FE, slap a block on it and go to town. There's no need to waste money on the FTW3 due to Pascal being very limited in terms of OC/voltage etc.

    CPU: Intel i7 4790k @ 4.8ghz
    MOBO: Asus Z97 PRO WIFI-AC
    GPU: EVGA GTX 1080Ti FTW3

HDD 1: 512GB Crucial SSD- OS
    HDD 2: 4TB HGST- storage
HDD 3: 2TB Hitachi- more storage
    PSU: EVGA SUPERNOVA 850 G2
    CASE: Corsair 760T (Arctic White)

The 127% power target/power limit on the secondary vbios should help the ftw3 perform more consistently under power % limited situations.

i find it strange that evga setup the dual bios with slave as the one with the 127% power target and master the lesser target.. I plan on building a custom loop with my 2 ftw3's as soon as ekwb releases there blocks for them. I have every ting else for it. even got a phantek enthoo primo to put everything in as my current case a corsair 760t would be a tight fit for everything.
